Shinya and the rest of the men were stationed in Japan in order to track down more of Sybyl's cohorts. The men took a boat to the island, staying cautious of getting spotted at the wrong time. There were a total of three men in the boat, Kou, Ahmed, and Lieutenant Li Cho, who was another war buddy that Shinya had befriended amidst all the bloodshed. Once they successfully set foot on the coast of Japan, the sergeant took his group of five soldiers and led them into the city where  they would all be instructed to look for any suspicious activity that may be Sybyl oriented. The rest were directed to other parts of the island to search for more info on Sybyl. Shinya's group were relocated towards the place he never wanted to go back to...He swallowed hard as he heard the words leave the Sergeant's lips.... "The official place in which Sybyl resides... The MWPSB!" Shinya's eyes widened at the sound of those five letters. They struck into him painfully like daggers as he tried to swallow the hard lump in his throat. He couldn't do this. He had killed many people in the past but he could never cause harm to Akane or anyone at his old work place. He had to do something before more innocent people were hurt.

He devised a plan to try and direct them away from the building but his efforts were futile. He got into his own head again, looking for answers. If he couldn't do something now, more important and precious lives would be at stake. Then it came to him. He would attempt to create a distraction while they were all split off into different groups. Once the rest of his group was distracted in trying to look for people to capture and interrogate, he would corner them and knock them unconscious while he'd look for Akane and warn her about the ambush. Once he established the specifics, he waited for the opportunity to put his plan to action. The men broke in, alarms started blaring as several heavy steel toed boots clanked through the building. The sound echoed amongst the oddly silent establishment. Was it closed? Had they all left to do work? There was no trace of Shion either and she hardly ever left the building when Kogami was still an enforcer. This was beyond strange. This was good. This meant he still had time to find Akane and warn her about the incoming warfare. Shinya used his old watch to change his appearance so he could easily slip away from the now dumbfounded soldiers.

He hitched a ride from a cab driver and looked up down the streets for any signs of possible criminal activity or at least a small trace of where Akane might be. He wasn't even sure if she was still alive or if she was even still a part of the MWPSB but he was sure that Akane wouldn't just up and quit. Despite how many years passed , the woman in his heart was one who wouldn't back down easily or give into Sybil's corrupt ways of maintaining the country. He knew she would not stand for such injustice. Once again the young soldier's train of thought was interrupted. This time by the sound of sirens blaring as paddy wagon whooshed by. He recognized the vehicle immediately and urged the cab driver to hit the gas and go  "After that paddy wagon!" The driver nodded lethargically and stepped down on the gas pedal, going as fast as he could. Shinya kept his eyes straight forward, not looking away from the road for even a second.

When they arrived, he found cover behind a dumpster. He listened into the faint voices from a distance.Though most of what he was able to hear got a bit garbled, he was able to hear an all too familiar voice call out; "Inspector Tsunemori is being taken hostage but do NOT shoot the target, I repeat do NOT shoot him! Or you'll run the risk of hurting the inspector too!" The sentence caused his heart to tighten in his chest. Akane was in danger and he wasn't there to protect her. He wanted to rush after the bastard that took her but he refrained. If they saw him they would shoot him dead. He was a traitor to Sybyl, which meant he was a traitor to the MWPSB. He'd be lucky if he just got off with an arrest and "rehabilitation" but Shinya was different. He actively killed a man, it wouldn't be possible. He was a sitting duck at this point he'd be damned if he let her be taken away. So naturally, Shinya looked for a way to evade the panicked enforcers.  He gritted his teeth in frustration, unable to find a quick solution. He rushed back towards the place the cab driver had dropped him off. A narrow alleyway not far from the back of a coorperate building where he had previously hid by. He let out a sigh of relief as he discovered the taxi still parked for some reason. Though Kou found it odd he ignored it and asked the driver to follow the white van in which the criminal used to escape the scene. Once they followed the van do its destination, Kogami paid the man. He thanked him but before he could escape, he felt a hand stop him from exiting the vehicle. Whipping his head around,  Kou was surprised to see yet another familiar face smiling at him.

"....Ahmed?"
