Barnaby was walking through the halls of his kingdom, checking and making sure everything was in place. Yet, he was mostly walking to clear his mind. Thoughts of Marshall had increased and the voice in his head had been no help either. It was like the disappointed voice that always
frowned upon your every movement.

I don't like Marshall, he is just an acquaintance, nothing more but my sister boyfriend

You do like Marshall, you secretly love him and you're jealous of fact that he is with your sister.

Shut up!

You shut up!

You're me, idiot

I am you

"I must be going insane to be talking to myself," Barnaby shakily said as he made his way back to his room to rest. Laying down on his dark pink sheets, his thoughts were clouded with more memories. Yet, one stood out to him the most.

Cold lips that were passionately connected with his warm ones. Love, was the only feeling that was felt in the memory. But now, the memory saddened him as he thought, 'Why doesn't he love me? Was it a game to him? No, he's lying, but why would he lie about his feelings? Why, Marshall?'

He's afraid of causing us more pain than we're meant to go through.

Then why would he leave me behind, and break my heart by lying to me and saying that as if he didn't care? Tears ran down Barnaby's face, upset at the situation. He didn't want to think about it, he just wanted to forg-

Don't you dare forget about Marshall, dammit!

Barnaby jumped slightly when the voice yelled at him in a angry tone.

If you forget him again, no good would come from it, only more heart ache. Please don't forget. Heavier tears came out of Barnaby's eyes hearing the voice's pleads. Taking a deep breath, he did what the voice told him and accepted the memories. Feelings came flooding in; pain, love, sadness, hate, joy. Barnaby welcomed it, and as he did the voice within his head soon faded away. Weight that was unknowingly on his chest was lifted.

The potion had worn off of Barnaby. Things he wished away came back though, in some of the memories held pain. Barnaby smiled, because he know felt whole once more. Marshall was still in his thoughts, but now he knew why. He knew the mistake in asking his sister to make him forget the one he loved.

After making up his mind, he shot up from his bed and walked out his bedroom, his way to Marshall's cave. "I need to make up for what did, I need to tell Marshall I love him and that I'm sorry for leaving him."

As he walked down the halls, he was stopped by a servant, "Prince Gumball, may I ask where you are going at such a busy time in your schedule?"

"I'm going to go see Marshall Lee, the vampire king if that's alright by you," Barnaby responded, trying his best not to sound disrespectful. "I could understand your, sister but that no-good low life of a k-

"How dare you speak to him so lowly. He is a king and a good friend of mine. I'm going to go see him now whether you like it or not." Walking past her, Barnaby didn't regret taking bitterly to her, she spoke as if she knew him. 'Maybe that's why he tried to break my heart, he was afraid of what people might think if we were together.'
