We waited at the bus stop area. It was taking, well, longer than usual. I took a glance at my wristwatch and checked, it was already 8:47. As far as I can remember, we went out the house- maybe -7:10 or just exactly 7.
I heard Marie's foot tapping, and this made me look at her. She was- obviously -shorter than me. She's just up to my waist. . .or hip, whatever.
And then, I heard screeches and screams. I quickly turned my head to my left, and found that the school bus. . .
IS ROLLING?!!
Holy shiz! Students are in there!! Then, the sky became dimmer, and I can feel my sister's grip at my sleeve. "E-everything's gonna be just fine, Marie. I-I'm sure of it. . ." I stuttered. "Really, Nate? 'C-cuz I'm not sure about that. . .!" She pointed at an electricity-like form that was coming this way.
Wait.
COMING THIS WAY?!
"Marie, ever heard of running?"
"Oh shut with your lame jokes or-- whatever you call that!! We should go!"
I agreed with her and I led her to a safe place. People were shouting and screaming, as the strong wind flew past us. Papers, plastics, and sofas-- okay, that wasn't true, but, you get my point?! You don't? Well, flying light junks, that is!
As we were about to find the perfect spot, I heard a squeaky scream. I turned my head to the left and saw a little boy that was about to be 'rolled' over by the electric figure, and worse than that, the electricity was about to struck him!
Then, everything became in slow motion. That kid. I have to save him. . .!
I ran to him and covered him, so that he wouldn't get struck. But, I was dumb. If he wouldn't get struck then who would?! Obviously, me! Such smart me.
I waited for the sharp pain that was about to strike my back, but it didn't happen. All I can feel is another- uncomfortable -embrace-like save. As expected. For you, that is.
Spiderman's here.
More like SpiderDAD's here. ||D
I fully opened my eyes and saw that he dropped the kid that I - ALSO -saved from harm, to his mother. Then, continued on to take off with me. "W-wait! What about Marie?!" I can hear a chuckle under his mask, which made me look like 'you're-happy-because-you-didn't-get-your-daughter-aka-my-sibling-with-you' look.
"Don't worry, Nate." He then got Marie with his web, and pulled it to him- or us, while swinging from harm's way.
Marie finally made it.
"What about the people in the school bus?!" She said, a little louder for us to hear as we swing. "Done it!"
O___O
Welp. That was fast.
He dropped us at the top of the building so that we can't reach harm, nor the harm won't reach us. He stopped by us for awhile, and looked down. "Another unnatural creature has explored the town, once again. //sighs// Could my life get any worse?" "Dad, you sounded weird." Marie said, raising her eyebrow. "Yeah, seriously. You're like. . .a whole different person. And sounded different." I agreed. Spiderman shrugged, and I feel like he's smirking inside. "That's because I'm playing 'superhero', kids. And, don't do this at home, you might--" "Whatever, daddy! Go save the city! I'll be cheering for you!" Tch. I rolled my eyes, "Who wouldn't?" I said, then she glared at me.
He laughed a bit, "Okay then, just take cover, in case." he, then, jumped off from the building.
"You heard the man, take cover!" I said, quirking my smile to the right. Marie rolled her eyes, "In case." "Well, it's better to be under the umbrella when it's raining than being outside it." I excused, locking my eyes into hers.
"Weeeelll~ it's not raining~~"
. . .
She does have a point. "I-I was using that for an expression!"
"Yeah, right."
B-but I'm telling the truth. . .
You trust me, right? God, I'm talking to a complete noone. And yeah, I also inherited the manner of talking-to-yourself from my father. And, I think Marie has that, too. But her talking to the air? I can't even imagine!
For minutes of rambling to each other, we heard a loud shout and then I felt pain- a shocking pain. Then, felt myself falling off the building, and before I saw the faraway ground, everything became black.
The bright light blinded my eyes, until they adjusted it. I furrowed my brows and scanned the area without getting up. "W-where am I. . .? Wait, hospital? Why am I--"
zapp zap
I held my head, and got up. I muttered a low 'ow' and now, I'm comfortable.
Guess yesterday was a little painful. And, wait, where's Marie?
When I was about to get to my feet, I felt a little bit dizzy, and sick. I laid down once more. Oh God, I feel so sick, and I think I got a fever. And school. . .
Oh no, SCHOOL!! I think that little rascal went off without me. I am so going to get her once I am done with this.
I heard the door creak and looked at it, and found mom and dad.
"Nate." My mother soothingly called me, which made me ligten up. "Mom, dad." They came closer to me, and mom sat on a chair that was beside me. She held my hand gently, and smiled. "How are you feeling?" She asked. I slightly shrugged, "I don't know. But, to tell you the truth, I don't feel well."
Her smile then, went into a frown. "W-well, I do hope you'll recover soon. Do you want anything, dear?" I was about to shake my head but remembered something, "Where's Marie? I remembered that she was with me when the electricity. . .struck. . .me. . ." I trailed off, widening my eyes in realization. "It can't be. She's. . .?" I saw dad, nodding. "She was in the same situation as you experienced."
I widened my eyes more, it's like they are trying to get out from my face. "W-where is she now?" I asked. "She's here, in the same hospital. But, she's in Room 204. She's taking a nap." Mom answered. I frowned, "Is she alright?" Dad nodded.
Why is he so. . .quiet all of a sudden?
"How long was I asleep? And what room is this, anyway?" I furrowed. Mom smiled, a. . .sad-ish smile, I say. "You were out for two weeks, and so is your sister. She also woke up before you, I think. But, just today, she woke up. And. . .you're in Room 109. The reason why we appeared here late. We still have to take the stairs because the nearest elevator's broke."
". . .Oh."
Well, that explains it.
I saw father leaving the room, he then closed the door. Mom turned her head to the door, then turned back to me. "Get some rest, sweetie. We'll come back soon." She said, then went to the door. My eyes, still not leaving her feature.
She looked at me one more time and then finally left the room. Now I'm here again, all alone in a plain room. Not to mention, me feeling comfortable.
I closed my eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep. But, the dreamless sleep only lasted for a couple of minutes until I entered a nightmare full of scary-looking spiders. Trust me, they're horrifying.
I bet you'd scream like a little girl once you wake up from it.
Hey! It's me, again.
Hope you liked my chapter 2 of The Spiderlings for you guys.
