"Alice, use swift to flank them out!"
The weary sylveon swept her pink pixelated homing stars around their surroundings to force all the cats out of hiding. For now it was two liepards, a delcatty, and a persian.
"Here we go." Kaisuke muttered under his breath. This was it. This was gonna be how they go out. Together, fighting to the bitter end. He could practically hear their heartbeats pound against their ribcages as they went into battle.

Tha-thump. Tha-thump

"Sylveeeee!" she cried as she let loose another barrage of pink pixilated stars. But they soon found out that these cats were a distraction. As the stars hit them,another wave of cats jumped into the fray. A persian made a mad dash towards Kaisuke, glowing white claws ready. Kaisuke saw it and managed to raise his arm fast enough to keep the Persian from slamming him into the ground. However, it still managed to hit him three times with its fury swipes before falling back. Three more scratch marks shone bright red on his face. The marks and the pain appeared on Alice's face as well. At that moment, she could have sworn she heard another Heart beat.

Tha-thump. Tha-thump

Enraged that it managed to hurt her trainer, Alice swiftly hit the persian with a powerful moonblast and sent it flying into the green abyss. At that same moment, a liepard came out of the darkness and hit Alice with a ball of dark violet aura. An attack known as shadow ball. Alice and Kaisuke screamed upon impact.

Tha-thump Tha-thump

The two friends fell to the ground. Almost completely out off energy. Despite this, one shared glance at each other was enough to give then enough strength to get back up again. Giving up was not an option.

Both of them could hear one another's hearts pumping harder then they have ever pumped before. Both of them determined to protect the other until the bitter end. They stood their ground as they watched the cats, one by one, prepare powerful special attacks that would more team likely finish them off.

Who was that?

Before Alice or Kaisuke had time to wonder, two glowing stars suddenly fell towards them from the twilight sky. The palm sized stars of gentle light disappeared and were absorbed by their bodies. Suddenly, their pain had lessened substantially. His injured leg had fully healed as did many of their other injuries. The cats held off their attack, unsure what was happening.
What was this? What was going on? First he was hearing another heart beat, then he heard a child say Waiko's name, now they're healing? For a minute, everyone froze in surprise. In the temporary silence, he started thinking about his dream. Winning the millennial tournament. He wanted to win it so badly! Ever since he was a child he dreamed of winning the tournament of a dozen lifetimes. He can't afford to die now! Wait what? Why did that suddenly come up? That had nothing to do with saving Alice. Why was he thinking about the tournament at a time like this? He looked at her and found her glowing in a faint blue aura. He looked at himself and found that he was cloaked in a faint blue aura as well. Could it be, these weren't even his thoughts? Could his thoughts about the tournament actually be Alice's?
At the same time, she started thinking about how she couldn't get herself out of this mess. She was in danger all because she accidentally left her pokemon on the isl- wait a darn minute! What happened to getting Kaisuke to the tournament? She didn't have any pokemon, she WAS a pokemon! Confused, she looked toward him and noticed what he did. She saw what he saw. He came to the conclusion that she came to. They both didn't understand why this was happening, only that it was. Whatever the reason for the seemingly random ability they were gifted with, it didn't matter, right now. Only that their appreciation for one another had grown exponentially. A fire inside their hearts burst like never before. Without even realizing it, their thoughts, hopes, dreams, determination, and will to live had all become one.
