The moonlit sky lit the weary summer night and rested upon heavy shoulders. Waiko sat against The left side of the school doorway. He hugged his crystal and stared into the lunar-kissed waters. The occasional cry of nocturnal hunters accompanied the sound of the hypnotic ocean waves.
On the right side, Daedalus laid on the cool sand, gazing into The many eyes of the night.
"Will Kaisuke be alright?" Waiko asked. Guilt clutched his chest, regretting that he ever set foot in that jungle. All he could think about was Kaisuke and his sylveon, sleeping peacefully on the small bed in the corner of the teen room. They had been like this for a few hours now, with no sign of waking up any time soon.
"I'm sure he'll be fine." Daedalus yawned. "He's been in worse conditions."
    "Really?"
More than likely. He thought to himself. I doubt telling him he's a damn mess will help.
Minutes passed, and Waiko couldn't contain his guilt anymore.
"It's all-snif-...It's all my fault. If only -sniffle- if only I hadn't went into the jungle. I-"
Oh Arceus. Daedalus groaned in his head. Don't tell me the brat's crying..
"So, what? You're gonna cry now?" he glared at Waiko.
Waiko apologized in sobs. "He...I'm sorry. I hurt your friend. You probably hate me now..."
Nope! Not dealing with this crap. If there war one thing Daedalus couldn't stand, it war crybabies.
"Listen up brat." Daedalus' glare intensified immensely. "I never said I hated you. Do I think both you and Kaisuke are stupid? Yes. Yes I do."
Daedalus got up and looked Waiko straight in the eye. Now he was starting to get scared. Daedalus pointed a finger at the door.
"He doesn't hate you. Do you know what he AND I do hate?" Waiko shook his head. Daedalus jabbed a finger into Waiko's chest. "Pointless crying. Tell me, what the hell is crying doing for you right now?"
Waiko's sobs and his heart both stopped. Daedalus was scary. He didn't understand why Daedalus was so mad.
"Hey!" Daedalus snapped at him. "Answer my question! What us crying doing for you?" Waiko tried to come up with an answer, but he couldn't come up with one.
     "I...I don't know."
"I'll tell you. You're doing nothing but trying to get people and yourself to feel sorry for you."
Waiko had stopped crying at this point, surprised by how Daedalus was treating him. He didn't know how to respond. Daedalus stood back up,satisfied that the kid stopped crying.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to find something to do until the moron finally wakes up." Daedalus left Waiko and started following the crashing shore. Not knowing what else to do, Waiko followed Daedalus.
Crobatman, perched on the roof of the school, watched the two humans trace the shoreline with their already fading footprints.
     "Hey sir?" Waiko asked.
     "What's up shrimp?" he answered.
"If crying doesn't do anything, why do people cry?"
Daedalus, not expecting such a question to come from the leaky squirt, took a moment to stop and think. It was a rather interesting question. He couldn't say he whether had ever wondered why people cried or not. He usually just called them babies and wouldn't think about them after that. But then again, even he has had a few moments...
"I suppose people cry as a self-defense mechanism against emotional disturbances. When someone finds themselves in a situation they can do absolutely nothing about, a person will cry in an effort to get rid of their frustration."
Waiko watched Daedalus give an affirmative nod toward the distance.
"Which is why," he continued, "you should almost never have a reason to cry. There's always something you can do. No matter how desperate a situation may be."
They listened to the rumbling waves crash against the dark sand.
Waiko asked, "What's a mechanism? Do people have robots inside them or something?"
"What? Of course not! It's an established system that results in an action or an event, such as turning the key to start the engine of an automobile or voting in a democratic effort to solve a problem."
Waiko giggled a little. "Are you sure? You sound kinda robotic to me."
Daedalus' eyes practically popped upon hearing that. "WHAT? MY ARCEUS you've already spent too much time with Kai!"
After Waiko went into a giggling fit, he calmed down and asked another question, face mixed with sadness and curiosity.
"You said crying is pointless if I can do something. I hurt kaisuke, so what can I do?"
Daedalus looked back at the kid. He acted nonchalant, but was actually starting to like the kid. He asks real questions. He knew grown men who couldn't do that.
"He saved your life didn't he?" he answered. "Go do something with it. Enjoy it."
Waiko looked down in thought. That wasn't really an answer. He pouted to himself. What am I supposed to do?
He couldn't think of anything,so He decided to ask Kaisuke when he wakes up. Until then, he'll do something fun!
"Hey, mister!" he called out to Daedalus. "What's your name?"
"The name's Daedalus. What's yours kid?"
"Waiko! Have you ever ridden a wave?"
"Can't say that I have. Why do you ask?"
     "Why haven't you?"
"Never wanted to. You gonna answer my question?"
     "You should. Its fun."
Daedalus was getting annoyed buy the kid's lack of answering, but he figured it as better than dealing with his crying, so he shrugged it off.
Waiko grinned and brought out a beautiful seashell white ocarina that rested on his black threaded necklace.
"Kid," Daedalus had a bad feeling about that grin. "What's that occasions for?"
Waiko turned toward the ocean and played a tune that sounded suspiciously similar to the theme of jaws.
In the distance, sharpedo fin appeared in the distance. Before Daedalus could blink, it was near shore and popped it's head above the surface.
"Come on!" Waiko grinned as he pointed to the sharpedo.
     "What? But isn't that-?"
Before he could protest, Waiko pushed him onto the torpedo pokemon and jumped on in front of him.
"Let's do something!" Waiko cheered. "Let's go sharpedo!"
     "What? No! Sto---------p!"
It was too late. the sharpedo was on the more and Daedalus didn't have much of a choice but to hold on tigh straightening himself the breast he could, he noticed that the sharpedo, who's ability is normally rough skin, had silky smooth naval blue skin.
"Cone on sharpedo!" Waiko cheered. "Faster!"
Against Daedalus' protests, hrs could feel it going even faster. It was swimming farther and farther from the shore.
"Kid!" Daedalus panicked. "This thing is kidnapping us!" He's gonna kill if when they reach land. He said do something, not commit kamikaze! Then, if his heart was already pounding, it certainly was now. He saw what the pokemon was aiming for. They we're jetting through the cold waters straight toward a giant wave!
He couldn't watch. He closed his eyes shut wishing the nightmare would just end already.
Then, suddenly, they weren't moving anymore. He didn't feel any movement, nor could he feel any water at his feet. Was...was it somehow over?
    "Daedalus, open your eyes."
Against his better judgement, He opened them and had his breath absolutely taken away. Before his eyes, laid a bird's eye view of Aloramora beach. The moon smirked at him in the background of salt sprayed obsidian sky, almost melting into an ever expansive strip of dark emarald jungle and almost indigo sand. All of this being eaten and regurgitated by the ever hungry ocean waves.
Instead of fear, he felt disappointment as the sharpedo fell back to the ocean, but was immediately compensated with a beautiful view of the ocean floor. He had no idea How he could see, nor how he could breathe, but tat didn't matter. All that mattered were the dancing lights in the engulfing darkness below an aurora of blue moonlight. Before long, the trio found themselves back on the sandy shore. It was over, but Daedalus wanted, no, yearned for more. Waiko could see It in his eyes.
"Again?" he giggled. He loved seeing that look on first timers. For the rest of the night, they surfed and dived under the waves again and again. Daedalus was speechless the entire night. He couldn't find words. He just wanted more and more. Occasionally, thye had to give the sharpedo a break, but they would go again once it was done resting. It was day break before Daedalus was finally satisfied.
They bade the sharpedo farewell, and it swum into the sherbert morning sky.

"How?" Daedalus asked. "You can just summon friendly magical sharpedo whenever you feel like it?"
Waiko laughed. "It's not really magical."
"How was I breathing though? We were under water!"
"This sharpedo used to live Hoenn. They have a move called dive, which makes its riders breathe under water with it!"
"Okay, how did it get so fast though? And its skin wasnt rough! It didn't hurt to ride it at all!"
"It has the ability speed boost. Its skin helps it slip through water and become faster and faster!"
"Okay, and How about the while summoning shtick? You can Simon sharpedo whenever you want? What are you, long of the sharpedo?"
Waiko shook his head. "I can only summon that one sharpedo. I have other sea friends though I can summon."
Waiko wanted to elaborate, but was interrupted by a boy's scream. They shared worried glances at each other. Kaisuke!
They made a dash to the school and burst through the doors, prepared to take down the threat.
It turned out the 'threat' was just the mirror.
The two had stumbled upon a very bewildered Kaisuke, who was gaping at his reflection.
"My hair!" he almost squealed. His hair had grown all the way down to his hips. "How long has it been? How many years have passed that it grew so much?"
With tear-filled eyes, Alice cried "Sylvie sylv!"
"SEVENTEEN??? My birthdays! The tournament!I can't believe this! Where's Daedalus???"
Kaisuke made a dash for the door and nearly crashed into them.
"Daedalus! I can't believe it! Dude-" This was when he looked down and found Waiko next to him...still young...still a kid... He glared back at the now hysterically laughing sylveon. Apparantly, those were tears of laughter it was shedding.  "Haha. Very funny."
     "Sylveon sylv!"
"Oh, shut up.  Now seriously, what the heck happened to my hair?"
Daedalus shrugged. He and Kaisuke exchanged stories to get a better idea of what exactly happened.
"So...Alice mega evolved?" Daedalus asked in shock.
"That's the only explanation that makes sense." Kaisuke said. "That's That's only thing I can think of that would explain her temporary form change. She's back to normal now." As to emphasize his point, he pointed at his sylveon, who was now playing with Waiko in the kids room.
"Problem is, that doesn't explain your lack of a keystone and megastone." Daedalus glanced at Kaisuke's now waist long black hair. "Or your sudden change in hair length."
"Oh" Kaisuke said. "Thats actually simple."
"Oh really?" Daedalus asked with a raised eyebrow. "Explain."
      "I became a super saiyan."
Daedalus looked at Kaisuke annoyed. "I don't understand how you can be so stupid and smart at the same time."
"I can just be stupid if you'd like."
"You suck, I'm going to bed."
     "But I just woke up!"
"Find something to do!" Daedalus went to sleep in the bed Kaisuke had previously been in. Kaisuke turned to Waiko, but he was napping under a blanket Alice has tucked him in.
"Well,"he said to Alice. "Guess it's training time."
     "Vee!" Alice cheered.
The two left the school and trained on the beach.

"Kaisuke," Waiko asked on their way down the beach to New Lumiose City. Now that they had gotten some sleep, "Back in the forest, I never got to tell you something."
     "Go ahead. What is it?"
"Today is the last day you can register for the tournament."
Kaisuke and Daedalus simultaneously shared looks of distress.
     "What?" they both exclaimed. "Yup!"
Wasting no more time, the duo raced to the pokemon in New Lumiose City.
"Wait!" Waiko called out to them. But it was too late. The boys had gone off in hopes of registering for the tournament of a dozen lifetimes. Waiko shook his head and 'tsk'ed in mock disappointment.
"Aren't they silly?" he asked his rock. "I already registered them."
Waiko followed the trail of trampled sand into the Grande city.

Somewhere under the region of Verona, lay the secret base of a particular man. He sat in his special meeting room behind a beautiful Oakwood desk on blood red carpet complemented by a natural olive green. In front of him was a television screen that took up the entire wall.
On screen was a silhouette of one of his most trustworthy employees. Despite his trust however, neither knew what the other looked like. Very few knew his true identity. We're the wrong person to discover his identity, a particular organization would immediately know what he was up to and put a stop to him.
"Boss." his agent continued. "The researcher has been located."
"Excellent. Tell me, has he transferred his information yet?"
"No. He hasn't even transferred it onto any form of document. Frustratingly enough."
     He frowned, slightly annoyed.
     "Is he onto us?"
"No sir. Apparently, he has a very bad case of procrastination."
He sat for a moment in silence. Of all the obstacles in his way of getting the data, he never considered his target's laziness to be a factor. There wasn't much time. He may have to make a more direct approach to the situation.
"Very well. Has Sherry acquired the wishmaker yet?"
"No sir. According to her report, -ahem- 'first, my very incompetent lackeys lost it to a boy and some stupid teacher, then I met a cute boy who interrupted my infinite extraction.' So no, we haven't acquired it yet, and we hit a small bump in our energy harvesting."
"Interesting..." he stood up, preparing to leave. "I trust you to get that data, and Jirachi. I suggest you do so soon, or else I will get someone else on the job."
     "Yes sir." The silhouette shuddered.
"Good. Now, I shall continue muy own personal preparations."
The television blinked into blankness. The man smirked to himself. It's taking a bit longer tan he hoped, but his plan was finally coming into fruition.
Walking through the maze that was his secret base, he finally made his way out into the jungle. He looked at the sky and thought to himself, it's almost time...
