Ruby walked quietly along, picking up objects of interest and putting them in her pockets. She would look at them later. People must have tried to escape because their possessions were scattered everywhere.
Carol's attention was grabbed by a house. She ran to it, ignoring Ruby and Eva, and forced the door open. There was a charred crib and countless baby toys and books. Tears formed in Carol's eyes. "No one is immortal... But..." Carol sat in the ash until her companions realised she was no longer following. Eva knew this part. It was when...
