Promised

You promised her smiles
That you'd walk a thousand miles
You promised her your time
That you'd always be in her life
You promised her moments
That you'd always give her compliments
You promised her your all
That you'd catch her when she falls

She thought she'd be content for long
But didn't know it was all so wrong
She thought she was incomplete
When you weren't around to see
She felt it slowly fading away
The love that was promised soon became a faze

Now she's broken
Now she's lost
The words once spoken
They decreased their cost
Now she's in pieces
Now she's drowned
The only person that can save her
Has left town
