"Halloween is in 2 weeks, and we still haven't chosen costumes." Aria announced, then slumped into a armchair in the Gryffindor common room.

Lylie, Fred, George, Lee, Addison and Cordelia looked up from their studies.

"So?" George shook his head, as if he was shooing her away, then quickly went back to calculating something for his homework.

"We should think of some ideas." Addison added.

"So now we're doing a group costume?" Lee demanded as he shut his textbook.

"Weren't we already doing that?" Aria's eyes widened at Lee.

Lee was taken aback at Aria's tone, he looked down, "Yes."

"Good," She flashed a quick smile, "what's the plan?"

"Nothing." Lylie replied, and began packing up her papers.

"Let's think of some ideas." Aria suggested, excited.

Fred jumped in, "I'd PERSONALLY like to be a box this year, but, it's your call." He pursed his lips and looked down to his writing.

"A box?" Addison raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. People would think I was going to explode or something would pop out of me, but nothing would happen. Students would be paranoid, it would be great." Fred looked around at his confused friends, grinning madly.

"Oh, I get IT!" George nodded his head, faster and faster in realization.

"Right, right?" Fred acknowledged his brother's optimism.

"You're not going to go as a box." Cordelia began to take control of the situation, "It seems that Aria has an idea, so can we all just LISTEN. Lookin' at you, Frederick."

"Let's stick to a first-name basis." Fred flashed a cheeky smile.

"Anyway," Aria brought the group back to the main subject, "I was thinking we could all go as smurfs!"

Everyone fell silent. Addison was the first to speak, "Oh ... oh ... uhm .."

"You don't like it?" Aria asked, crushed.

"It's not that we don't like it ..." Lee trailed off.

Aria snapped, "Hey, I didn't ask you, Lee."

"Sorry. Just saying." Lee put his hands up, as if surrendering.

Addison slowly developped a smile, she declared, "Let's go as princesses and princes!"

Lylie's eyes snuck a glance at Fred. She thought to herself, 'Does he want to do this? Please say you will, Fred.'

Aria nodded, "Yeah, and we could choose the names randomly. We would have a boy drawing and a girl drawing. We choose one name from each, pairing us up randomly."

Lylie bit her lip, 'Why can't we choose our partners?' She wondered to herself.

"Let's do it right now," Aria stood up and grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill. She jotted down everyone's names, "here's the girl pile, and here's the boy pile." Aria motioned to two small piles of ripped parchment that she made.

Cordelia stopped the process, "I can't do it, though. I've already planned something with my friend in Hufflepuff. Maybe next year?"

"Oh, okay." Aria said, feeling deflated.

"Catch up with you lot later then." She stood up and rushed out of the common room.

"On with the drawing!" Aria continued her very sophisticated and organized drawing.

"Firstly," she pulled a name from the girl pile, "we have Addison with ..." she rummaged her hand through the boy pile, "Lee!"

'Okay,' Lylie thought to herself, 'there's a 50 percent chance I'll get Fred. But, really, if I do get George, it doesn't matter, they look the same anyway.' She tried but failed to comfort herself.

"Secondly," Aria proceed, "myself. I will be the princess of ... Fred." Lylie's heart stopped for a millisecond. 'Great.' She thought sarcastically.

"Leaving Lylie to be George's princess." Aria smiled happily.

"Get to work on your costumes! No dillydallying!" Aria ushered her friends out of the Gryffindor common room to get to work.

"What kind of prince and princess are we doing?" George asked, the next evening in the Great Hall, while the others were chatting.

"Maybe, medieval? That would require 10 pounds of makeup, though." Lylie chuckled.

"Perhaps, modern day?" George suggested instead.

"Like, a more fashionable dress for me, and a more classy suit for you?" Lylie asked as she helped herself to more spiced rice.

"Yeh, something that doesn't need too much work put into it." George laughed lightly.

"Because you're always taking the easy route, aren't you George?" Lylie mused.

"Right that is."

"I'll do my makeup nicely, and I'll have my mother order me a fancy gown and send it to me in a package. Can your mother do that for you?" Lylie requested.

"She can't send me a GOWN, Lylie!" George exclaimed, pretending to be offended.

"You know what I meant, you dumbo." Lylie playfully shook her head in disbelief.

George sobered and responded seriously, "But, yes, yes she can most definitely do that."

"We'll be the most elegant prince and princess at the Halloween party."

George smiled innocently, "That is, if Fred and I don't accidentally ... or purposely blow something up."
