I walked into the school on the first day of my senior year. My friends, Nicole and Jayden, and I were grateful to be getting out of the place I like to call hell. I was determined to just survive this year without any trouble but I knew that was going to be impossible.
Seniors were supposed to stay in the commons for the first half of first period, so we just walked in and sat down. Some of the other upper class men were hanging around the commons also. I'm assuming that they were checking out the "freshmeat" that was walking through the doors. The guys were probably looking at girls but I doubt they want freshman girlfriends. They were probably scouting who was gonna be the easiest to get. These guys didn't care about you they just wanted to get in your pants and then dump you for the next thing that walked through the door with boobs and open legs. And let me tell you there is plenty of that here.
A dark headed boy standing near the stage in the commons was hitting on a girl who didn't look to interested. There were girls screaming and running up to their friends. I rolled my eyes knowing most of these girls had seen each other just yesterday planning their out fits for today.
I looked around the commons waiting for the bell to ring wondering what they wanted us for. Probably to tell us about all of our senior duties blah blah blah. All of that was crap we just wanted to get the hell out of this place and they knew that.
"Hey Cassie." Jayden said, snapping in front of my face.I turned my head sharply to look at my friends who were staring at me.
"Are you okay?" Nicole asked. "You got that look that said you were about have steam come out of your ears. What's wrong?"
I shrugged. "I was thinking about having to survive another year in this place."
"I know its been hard for you these past few years but I can tell this is going to be a good year for you." Nicole stated. Jayden just patted my back and gave me a reassuring look.
I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Yeah."
Nicole just shrugged she knew not to debate with how I felt. She knew my life was hell and tried to help me the best she could but she could only do so much to soften the blows.
I decided to get out my phone and ear buds and listen to music. For the time being I could block out the world and think about what the coming year of high school would bring.

We had to sit and listen to Principle Ross speak for thirty freaking minutes. I was so bored and my butt was starting to hurt from the seats we were sitting on. When we finally got to leave I was so happy and so was my butt.
I was in AP classes so, of course, my first class was AP chemistry. Thank god Jayden was in my class. I could tell this class was going to suck. All the people I loathed were in here.
In normal schools the nerds got bullied, but in my school the nerds bullied the nerds, and the regular kids bullied the regular kids. The person who couldn't leave me alone since freshman year was in here too. Jane. What a joy. Jane liked to mess with me and I hated her for it. she's one of the reasons I can't wait to leave this place.
Jayden didn't like her either because she makes me upset. No one dared mess with Jayden. She wasn't exactly what you could call emotional but the only thing she showed was anger and that happened easily, but she could be scared shit less and not show it one bit. But me, you could see it in my face from a mile away. I admired her for that.
Jayden was a about the same height I was. She had thick brown hair that went to her shoulders. She was kind of tan. Her eyes were light blue. They could tell a story if you looked deep enough into them.
The teacher just told us to pick a seat and Jayden and I walked to the back of the classroom.
"Alright class I'm going to call roll now that everyone is here." The teacher said.
"Cassandra Abbott."
"Here." I called back to her.
"Loser." someone coughed not so subtly. I knew it was Jane but decided to ignore it but I saw Jayden glance at me with worry.
The teacher just continued on as if she didn't hear anything. Yeah, this should be a fun year.
Just as Mrs. Huges, she had written her name on the board, was about to speak there was a knock on the door. She sighed and answered it. In walked a boy with light brown-blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.
"You must be Chase Stone." Mrs.Huges stated.
He just nodded.
"Okay, well just go take a seat Mr.Stone."
I looked at Jayden who looked like she could fall on the floor. I chuckled at how star struck she looked hoping I wasn't mirroring her. Around the room I noticed there was only one seat left in the whole class. The one right behind mine at the very back of the class. My eyes widened as I saw him walking my way I just looked down at my desk like I didn't notice him. After he sat down and everyone had turned back in their seats Mrs. Huges began to speak.
"Okay class now since it's the first day of school we should all get to know each other better. We are going to stand up one at a time and say some things about our self along with your name and any questions other kids might have."
Oh no. I can't speak in front of people. I'm so shy. I stutter and freeze up. Jayden looked at me and her eyes widened. She knew how I felt about speaking in front of people. She mouthed "it's okay" to me, I'm sure because she could see the panic written on my face.
But she had no idea.
