*2 months later*
I stood outside the living room door dusting the knickknacks Lucy kept in the foyer. It was the last thing I had to do before I was done and could do my homework. I opened the door to the living room and saw Jane and Chase making out on the couch. Chase was sitting up right on the couch and Jane was straddling his lap. I shut the door as quickly as I opened it, making a loud noise.
Jane had been over pretty much every other day since my second week here. On the days she wasn't here Chase would hang around me while I cleaned. We would talk about pointless things and laugh until we cried. We had gotten really close and I hated seeing him with Jane. She still made crude comments to me and I still hated her.
I quickly turned around and walked through the dining room into the kitchen. I put the duster under the cabinet and grabbed my backpack off the counter and sat at the table. I pulled out my homework but didn't start on it. Jane is so horrible to me and her loving boyfriend, one of my now closest friends, doesn't have a clue. Even though Chase and I have gotten closer I still haven't told him what happened to me or how Jane acted towards me. If he wanted to date her then he could. It doesn't matter how I felt about it.
The door joining the kitchen and the living room opened and Jane walked through with her things in her hands. Chase walked out behind her, his hair was messier looking than usual. I'm sure Jane had something to do with that. My fingers itched to run through his hair, but I pushed it down having no idea where the desire came from. He walked her to the door and kissed her passionately once more running his hands down her sides. I slammed my chemistry book shut and they broke apart looking at me. I grabbed my stuff and went to the living room making sure to sit on the couch they hadn't sucked face on.
I could tell him but that would be ruining his relationship for a selfish reason. Dylan keeps saying that I should tell him and then let him make his decision if he still wants to be with her or not. He makes a point but I just can't ruin their relationship, no matter how much I hate Jane. Chase walked back into the living room and stood by the couch opposite of me.
"You okay?" He asked folding his arms over his chest.
"Fine." I said sharply not taking my eyes off my textbook.
"What's your problem?" He asked dropping his arms.
"Excuse me?" I said giving him a pointed look.
"Every time Jane is here you don't talk to me or her and you always get really pissed. Why is that?"
"Don't know."
"Dammit Cassandra, just tell me!" He said his voice getting louder.
"No!" I shouted standing up.
"Why not? What is this about? Do you just not like her or are you jealous or something?"
"Ha! You wish."
"Then tell me what the problem is." He said coming closer to me.Screw it.
"She's a fucking bitch that's why!" I yelled. It felt really nice to say that.
"No she's-"
"Oh but she is. You've only met her two months ago and I've known her for four years. You don't know the way she treats me or what she did to me." I said looking at him.
"What did she do?" He asked cautiously
"She makes every one hate me and tells lies about me. She told a teacher that I cheated on my finals and he believed her. She had taped a piece of paper with the answers on it beneath me desk. I had to take a summer course to keep from failing. She treats me like I'm garbage. Ever since freshman year she'd been nothing but a bitch to me so don't tell me she's not." I said sitting back down and closing my eyes.
