Chapter 8 Nerves Get to You

"What are you doing here Braden," Petra says once she closes the door of her room.

"It's a long story, but the main reason I'm here is that I want to rejoin the Survey Corps," I say a little to desperately.

"Braden, you know thats not my choice. It's Erwin's."

"I came to you though because I knew you would be the one who would understand."

"Well I can point you towards his room if you want."

"That would be great. Thanks Petra."

"Your welcome. His room is 5 rooms down on the left."

"Ok. See you around I guess."

"See ya."

I leave her room. I'm so nervous to see Erwin. Not as nervous to see Levi though. I walk down the hall as slow as possible so I can get something ready to say to him. I reach his door and knock.

"Who is it," I hear Erwin say.

"It's an old friend," I say in a way that I know he will recognize. Then he opens the door.
