Alfie's POV

I stopped the car when I saw Poppy run out of hers and Sean's and into the building. Frantically, I open the car door and spring after her, only to see May running after Sean.

I stop momentarily. Joe, Caspar and Zoe appear next to me.

"What the hell is happening?" Caspar asks, looking at all of us for some form of a response. I run towards the building and hear May and Sean calling for Poppy.

"SEAN! HELP!" I hear Poppy scream from far away.
I begin running down a long corridor and look in the offices for my sister. Door after door I force open and scan the room to find no one. I run towards the last door or the hallway and see May, sat on the ground in sobs. Instantly, I run in and squat down next to her.
"May what's happened?! Where's Poppy!?" I say, trying my best not to shout.

She raises her hand and points towards the pool of blood, then the window. I stand up and my body tenses. I walk towards the window as Zoe, Joe, Caspar, and Sean all enter the room, out of breath. Out of the corner of my eye, Caspar lifts May off the ground and holds her.

I peer out the window and shout Poppy's name, but with my luck, I get no response. I look around in the black abyss and something catches my eye. A person: a man I assume, standing in a black hoodie with his back turned to me.

"HEY!" I shout, climbing through the window, ignoring the searing cuts on my hands from the shattered glass. I jump down and run after the figure, who at this point, has taken off in a sprint. I run after him, my feet guiding me down a long street and turning down an alley way. When I make the turn, he stands in the middle of the street, his back once again, turned to me.

"Where's my sister?" I ask him, reaching for my knife in my back pocket.

The figure turns around, but his face isn't visible in the dark. I try to study his features in the darkness, but it's no use.

"She's long gone my friend...far away from here..." he laughs. I know this laugh. He steps forward into a patch of light and I hold back a gasp.

Marcus Butler.

"Marcus what the hell are you talking about?" I ask. As I step forward, I notice his eyes are not the ones I know. These ones are cold and almost black. He's a Shrieker.

"Marcus, who took Poppy?" I ask, not extremely cautious of my best friend, trying to ignore the fact that he could kill me at any moment.

"Hello Alfie" I hear someone say from behind me. I turn around to find myself looking at someone who I thought was dead.

Mark Ferris.

Instinctively, I pull my knife out of my pocket and prepare myself to fight, wether it's Marcus or Mark. Mark laughs at this action and takes a step forward towards me.

"You thought they were crazy, did you? You thought I was gone. That your stupid big sister's boy-toy killed me. And you know what? I did die. I died a long time ago. But here's the thing" he says stepping closer to me.

"I will never go away Alf. Years from now, I'll be here. I'm the dream you can't wake up from."

In a moment I blink, he is gone, but I am reminded why I am here as Marcus strangles me to the ground from behind, clawing and growling at me. I shake him off my body and pull my knife out, swinging at him as he lunges forward at me, making noises like an animal.

"Marcus please don't! I can't do this to you!" I plead. I can't kill him.

He jumps on top of me and pins me to the ground, his eyes dark as pinholes, as he snarls dangerously close to me. I try to move my hand, but I realize by knife has long been kicked aside.

This is it.

I look at my best mate as I think of all the amazing times we've had together. And now, he's going to kill me.
I close my eyes, bracing for the impact of his teeth clenching on my shoulder when a shot rings out and Marcus falls limp on top of me.

I scramble out from underneath him and grab my knife, looking up to see where the shot came from. In the distance, I see the silhouette of eight people, 3 presumably women, one tall, lanky man, two average size men, one smaller man, and two children, one boy and one girl it looks like from the distance I stand. The tall man lowers his gun and shouts down the alley.

"Put your weapon down, put your hands up!" His voice rings out, signaling a memory. Who is he?!

I do as he says, playing my knife on the bloodied pavement and placing my hands in the air. As I do so, I hear footsteps coming from behind me. Zoe and the rest of my group show up behind me, beating weapons and short of breath.

"You lot! Stop there! Put your weapons on the ground!" Another man shouts. I glance back and nod, signaling them to do as they say. They place their weapons gently down, not noticing Marcus's dead body lying in front of me. I glance down, sorrow filling my body. It's too much.

I crumble right then and there, sobbing and beating my fist on the ground. I can't fight this anymore. This can't be happening. This has to be a dream! Wake up Alfie! Wake up-

"Alfie!" One of the women shouts from down the alley. She begins running towards me, followed by another woman, the tall man, and one of the small children. I stumble back, unsure of who these people are, grabbing my knife off the ground and holding it pre cautiously behind my back.

As the figures get closer, I realize my group has made its way to my side, slyly drawing their weapons in case of emergency. As they get nearer, they pass through a patch of moonlight, reflecting off their faces as they run.

These people...

Tanya Burr
Jim Chapman
Louise and Darcy Pentland.

They are all alive.

I drop my knife and sprint to meet them, followed by Zoe and Joe.

I race up to Tanya and crash into an embrace, as Joe does the same with Jim; Zoe with Louise and Darcy. Zoe's tears and hiccups of joy echo down the alley as we are reunited with our old friends.

A/N
So I had a COMPLETELY different ending to this but then I decided it was absolute crap so I only kept the beginning. BUT YAY JANYA AND LOUISE AND DARCY MADE IT! And what is Mark doing back? What's the deal with Marcus?
Who should the other people be? Leave comments!!! ;)
