Jay POV

"Blue be careful. I don't want you snagging your stockings."
"Yes ma'am."
"Jay you ready?"
I was rushing down the stairs trying to fix my tie. "Yeah I'm ready."
"Come here." Bey said motioning me towards her. She began fixing my tie and being all flirty, whispering slick stuff in my ear.
"Last time we were late." I smirked.
"It'll be quick this time. I promise." she begged.
"Uh un. The last time we were late you had a big ass smile on your face which gave it away. Mama almost beat both our asses in the parking lot."
"Shaawwwwnnn" she started whining.
"Nope. Then you gone lie talking about 'I'm just thinking about the goodness of the Lord'" I laughed.
"Fine. Don't ask me for none later on." she said with a fake attitude.
"Oh. I won't have too cause you can't keep your hands off me."
"Daddy am I going to Children's Church today?" Blue asked coming into the kitchen.
"Yeah, you can see all of your friends and some of your cousins."
"Yay!" she smiled.

We walked Blue to her classroom and then headed into the sanctuary to find my family. Today was Family and Friend's Day so church was packed. Once we spotted them we sat down and our friends were already seated.
"When did y'all get here?" Bey asked.
"A few minutes ago. I had Tim drop Titan off because if I took him he wouldn't have left me so easily." Kelly said.
"The twins looked at me crazy when I told them they had to go." Michelle laughed. "Callie wasn't trying to hear it and Cam kept trying to bargain his way out of it in the car."
"So y'all sent the husbands to do the dirty work?"
"Yeah cause we didn't want to hear it." Michelle said.
Pretty soon Morris and Tim came back. Tim had a distressed look on his face. Man I remember when Blue used to be like that but then Bey took her in the bathroom one Sunday. I don't know what happened in that bathroom but Blue hasn't given us any problems about going back there since that day.

The choir did alright today. That's cause my baby wasn't up there leading the song. She decided not to go up there because we invited our friends and they like to have long meetings after service. Anyways the pastor preached a really good message. It was about the parable of the lost sheep. Basically Heaven will rejoice over the one lost soul who comes to the church than over the ninety nine that are already saved. Which was a good message for today considering half of these people in here are CME members. After church was over, we went to get the kids so we could leave.
"Tim I'm gone call you later this week. I was thinking about remodeling a little bit."
"Alright man. Just let me know." he dapped me up and they left.
"Thank y'all for coming." Bey said hugging Michelle and Morris.
"Mama I actually had fun. Can we come back next week?" Callie said.
"She only wants to come back for Daniel." Cam said in a teasing tone.
"Who's Daniel?" Morris asked.
"Her boyfriend." Cam said laughing.
"He's not!" Callie said pushing him.
"Hey! Cut that out. You embarrass me and I embarrass you!" Michelle separating them. "Let me go before I lose my religion in this parking lot. I'll call you later Bey." Michelle said.
"Dr. Carter!" I heard. I turn around and I see this light skinned dude walking over to us with a young boy.

Bey POV

"Dr. Carter!" I turned and saw Mr. Smith and his son walking my way.
"Oh hello, Mr. Smith. I didn't know you attended this church."
"Yeah I could say the same for you."
"This is my husband Shawn Carter, my daughter Blue, and the rest of my family." I said doing quick introductions.
"Nice to meet you" he said reaching to shake Jay's hand.
"Same here, so how do you know my wife?"
Overprotective ass. "This is the guy I was telling you about who came in on Friday."
"Oh okay. You must have caught her on a good day because my wife rarely ever takes walk ins."
"Yeah and I'm really grateful for that."
"Dad come on we're going to be late picking up mom."
"Oh your wife isn't here?" I asked being nosy.
"We're not married. Just coparenting. She lives in Houston mainly because that's where her job is. But she insists on me having him in church so that's what I'm doing."
"That's nice of you to honor her wishes even though she wouldn't know if you actually took him."
"My mom would find out. She has p-"
"Juelz" he said cutting him off.
"Oh right. Sorry." he said.
"Well we better get going so we can pick her up when her flight lands. It was nice seeing you again doctor."
"Same to you."
"Bye Dr. Carter." Juelz waved.

"Now don't y'all be late. And where was your cousin?" Shawn's mom asked through the Bluetooth in the car.
"I don't know Ma but I'll go get him and bring him by the house. We about to go home and change and then we'll be over there.
"Alright bye baby." Click.
"Mommy can I wear my pink dress?"
"Blue it's too chilly outside. I already put your outfit on your bed."
"But I don't want to wear green"
"But you're going to wear it."
She sat back with a pouty face. I don't care just as long as she doesn't suck her teeth.

"Bey can you call T for me?"
"Yeah after I change."
"Can you do it now so he can be ready when we pull up?"
I tilted my head to the side. "I said after I change."
He huffed, "I'll just do it."
I shrugged as he left the room to call Terrence.
"Mommy can I go outside and play until we leave?" Blue said walking in.
"Yes but make sure you stay in our front yard."
"Yes ma'am." She said running off.
"Blue stop all that running." I yelled after her.

"Did he answer?" I said walking down the steps.
"Nah, so we gotta swing by and pick him up."
"But he didn't answer."
"Yeah...."
"So what if he's not home? You know your cousin is always on the move."
"He usually calms down on Sundays though."
I shrugged, "Tell Blue to come in so we can leave."
Jay went to do what I asked as I walked to get a quick glass of water.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look what I found!" Blue said running in. Didn't I tell her earlier to quit running.
"Slow down baby. What is it?"
"This pretty red rose."
