Jay POV

"You sure you can't miss this conference?"
"No, I have to go. It's important."
"You know your daughter's birthday is coming up."
"I wouldn't miss it."
"Is that Dr. John going to be there?"
"Who?"
"Dude that called your phone."
"He might. Babe it's an opportunity for me to network outside of New York."
"I still don't want you near him." I said getting frustrated.
"There's going to be a lot of people there. We probably won't even run into each other."
I sighed, "Am I driving you to the airport?"
"I got it, plus I want to drive my new car."
"What if someone scratches it? You know how you get."
"I promise I'll be good. You have enough to handle here."
I pecked her lips twice, she gave Blue a hug and kiss then left out the door.

We just got back from Florida a few days ago. I haven't gotten to drive my new baby so I'm driving it to the clearport. I couldn't risk taking it all the way to Houston. There's really no conference, as y'all probably figured. I'm going to Houston to see my brother and sister. They've been begging me to come down there. I've told them I'm not getting back in the game which is why I wouldn't come. But this time my brother said I should really come because it's important. My mom's birthday is coming up and she always does big parties. I do not want to go and be the center of attention but something tells me I will.

I arrived and was greeted by two men who helped me with my bags. I boarded the plane that Solange sent only to be greeted by my brother.
"What are you doing here?"
"We had to make sure you would actually come."
I rolled my eyes, "I told y'all I would."
"Yeah but you're known for running."
"Whatever."
"Giselle, you know I don't mean no harm."
"I hear you." I said and took a seat waiting for the plane to take off.
"You ready?"
"For what?" He gave me a look. "Oh hell no. Nope. I'm not doing it."
"Come on. You can't show up and not see them."
"I've done it once before."
"They think you're dead Giselle. At least come to dinner."
"Why should I show my face?"
"Because mommy needs to know!" he yelled. "Mommy needs some type of good news, she's been hurting for all these years."
"What about all the times I was hurt?"
"BB, I know you're hurting."
"Do you really?"
"Yeah."
"You and Piaget have no right to judge what I did. We grew up in the same house and all wanted to leave! Y'all keep trying to make me feel guilty about leaving, well guess what? I don't feel guilty about a dam thing! I made my choice and so did y'all."
"Piaget was right, you only look out for yourself."
I shrugged, "That's what I've had to do to survive these past twelve years."
Once we landed in Houston, a car was waiting to take me to my hotel. Of course Andre rode with me, he says it's for my protection. I checked in and took a much needed nap. I just want these next couple of days to fly by.

"Wake up! Woah! Dam girl it's just me!" she said laughing.
"You know how I am about shit like that." I said putting my gun away. I wasn't taking any chances being back here.
"Whatever, get ya ass up. We have plans for tonight."
"Piaget I told Andre that I wasn't going."
"And I don't give a dam. You're going."
"......"
"Giselle, mommy would really love seeing you."
"No."
"Come on you need to be at this dinner. Plus I want you to meet your nephew."
"Nephew?"
"Yeah, I always tell him about you."
"I don't know."
"It won't be that many people. Please please pleaseeeeeeeee."
"Fine. Let me go change."
