4. Sunsets

The daytime is like a fortress made of cards; it only lasts for so long, and when it ends, it ends quickly. The cards fall, collapsing entirely into the starry expanse of night. Then the stars come out.

And it is Polaris' destiny to draw them. So as the sun retreats from the sky, he makes his way out, navigating by the dim light cast by the last sliver of sun.

Then, as the sky darkens, he can't help but tilt his head back and watch the stars in awe. Galaxies all above his head... it was surreal, almost, so much so that Polaris doesn't even notice when he collides head-on with something.

Or rather, someone.

Many apologies are murmured between the two, and as Polaris looks, really looks, at Terra, all he can think is that she has the most beautiful stars in her eyes.
