Louise didn't want to look at him but she knew it wasn't his fault, how could she possibly blame him for what they did. He sat on the other side of her door all night, she heard him get up and leave at about seven, it was now ten and she was hoping he was very far away, because she couldn't deal with the mixed feelings she was having. She stood up and stretched before cracking open her door scoping the corridor and the heading to the kitchen. When she got there she found Tony standing in his iron man suit drinking a cup of tea. "You look like shit" he stated over his mug and she grimaced, "I feel like shit too." "Are ye heading out?" she questioned grabbing a mug from the shelf and pouring a cup of tea for herself. "Yeah we found a Hydra base in Montreal so we're going to shut it down" he smiled and she nodded. "Is James going?" Louise asked casually and Tony raised his eyebrows, "oh so it's not Bucky anymore" he fluttered his eyelashes and giggled like a little girl. "He told me" she replied monotonously and Tony's eyes widened, and he pulled her into a much needed hug. "I didn't think he'd say anything" Tony mumbled and Louise sniffled slightly on the verge of breaking down for the second time. Tony pulled away and looked down at her seriously, "listen I'm not Barnes biggest fan but I see the way ye look at each other and I don't think you can really blame him for it" Tony sighed. "I've forgiven him for it for all intents and purposes, don't judge him, or give up on him so quickly, from what I've seen you're the one person in this tower he doesn't want to see him as a monster " Tony said sounding pained as he did so. She nodded slightly finally getting the push she needed to clear her head. Just then Steve and Bucky walked into the kitchen and Bucky froze when he saw her, keeping his eyes on the floor. "Tony everyone's waiting put down the tea and lets go" Steve sighed and Louise chuckled a little. "Fine capsicle, lets ride" Tony smirked and handed her his cup, "listen Wheezy Peppers sick, we should be back by tonight but keep an eye on her for me would ya." "Of course" she nodded, "good luck and please be safe" she gave him a quick hug before letting him leave. "Same goes for you Steve" she called as the star spangled man with a plan followed Tony and he turned to give her a salute which left her smiling. Bucky swiftly followed, so she put her cup down quickly and walked quickly to the door but he was gone out of view. "Bucky" she called and for a second there was nothing. Her thought process stopped there as the man in question stuck his head back through the door. She kept her face serious as she walked towards him with purpose and he looked more and more terrified the closer Louise got. She got within arm's reach and grabbed his Kevlar vest pulling him down and wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, he stiffened for a second before swiftly grasping her waist and pulling her closer. "It doesn't matter, it doesn't make me care about you any less" she mumbled into his chest and he let out a small sigh. Louise pulled away slightly and pressed a soft kiss to his collar bone smiling at the small whine he let out, "come home safe soldier" she giggled pulling him closer again, "for you, anything doll" he murmured into her hair before he kissed her forehead, winked then saluted, leaving her alone with a large goofy smile spread across her face.
It was still plastered stupidly on her face when she got to Peppers room and knocked on her door, "Comeb in" Pepper called and Louise frowned at the sound of her blocked nose, Pepper never got sick. Yet there she was lying on her bed surrounded by tissues with a big red nose and watery eyes. "Hey Louise" she smiled and Louise made her way over to the bed before Pepper stopped her, "there's no point in you getting sick too honey" she shook her head so Louise just stuck to standing at the foot of the bed. "I was just wondering if you needed anything" she asked and Pepper shook her head again, "no I'm fine, go down and have some quiet time when there's no one around" she smiled and Louise looked at her with her eyes narrowed. "Promise you'll call me if you want something okay" Louise mothered and Pepper just rolled her eyes, "yes I promise, now go and chill out." So that's exactly what she did, she lay on the couch and binge watched Criminal Minds with a bowl of popcorn occasionally asking Jarvis to keep her updated on Pepper. There wasn't a peep out of Pepper until about six o'clock that evening when the television flashed and an image of Pepper came through. "Louise could you run to the pharmacy and get me a box of Advil please" her voice was worse than it was earlier. "Of course, do you need anything else" Louise asked, "no, that's it,thank you" her voice was harsh and grainy through the video call. Louise pulled on her jacket and made her way downstairs and out the front door. It was freezing out, and the fog that came down that morning hadn't lifted all day leaving the atmosphere a little too eerie for her liking. She made her way quickly down the street and into the pharmacy relishing in the heat of the shop. She grabbed a box of advil and brought it to the counter where she discussed the weather with the polite middle aged woman at the desk. Louise couldn't help but feel tense and scared; there was something just not right. She made her way back outside but something was off, the road was too quiet and there was no one to be seen. She pulled her coat closer to her and listened out for anything odd as she walked along the street. She was about 50 meters away from Stark tower when the street light above her head flickered out; immediately she crossed the road, letting out a sigh of relief as she was bathed in light again. Her sense of relief only lasted for a few seconds as the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, she listened carefully and her heart started to pound as she picked up footsteps behind her, she hadn't seen anyone as she crossed the street. She slowed down slightly and to her horror so did the footsteps, Louise sped up and they followed again, she cursed herself for leaving her phone on the couch. She picked up her pace again and got to ten metres away from within shouting distance of safety when she was shoved forcefully into a car and froze as she met cold grey eyes. "Evening Scott" he smirked and before she could do anything he covered her mouth with a rag and Louise was gone.
