Thanksgiving

(1 Week Later)

I walk into my 5th period class late, not really caring. I sit down, put my bag on the ground & chew my gum.

Mrs. Catching turns around & walks towards my desk.

"Melody, u are aware that u are 15 minutes late to class?😠", she states angrily but calmly.
"Yes, Mrs. Catching...I'm also aware that the ground is hard but I don't state the obvious.", I said calmly back.
"Listen here, young lady. This is now your 5th tardy this week. You are a senior now, you should know the rules about tardiness & chewing gum in my class. Not only that, but u are one of my intelligent students, why are u now coming with nose piercings, no uniform & ear plugs in my class?", Mrs. Catching exclaims as everyone in the class looks at me, even, Renee, Erika, & Jakeline.
"Look, Mrs. Catching, I believe that people should have good breath. So help yourself & anyone who is 3 feet from u & go buy a pack or two.", I stated.
I hear an "Oh shit.", coming from the classroom.
"Miss Martinez! I will see u in detention Saturday afternoon! Go down to the guidance counselor's office!😡😡😡", Mrs. Catching yells.

I shrug my shoulders, grab my bag & head straight out the classroom not giving any fucks about getting in trouble.

(Skip to the End of the Day)
(At Home)

"Melody! You got in trouble again?! I thought we had a talk last night about u getting yourself together after those last other 2 complaints we got from your guidance counselor. What is going on with u these days? You're dressing more darker than usual, u got your nose pierced without permission, & you've been going out late at night to take a stroll in the woods?!😡", Yaya complained.
"I told u, I visit my lil ol' treehouse. It's not like it's a bad place.", I exclaim.
"I know....but Melody.....are u feeling alri-"
"I'm fine.😒", I said cutting her off.
"Fine....just go to sleep baby sis, we'll have a talk with your brother about your punishment tomorrow.", Yaya said sighing & leaving the room.

The second that she leaves her room, I start heading towards my bedroom window.
I opened it & slid out & jumped.
I landed on my own two feet & started running towards the woods.

The moon was full tonight.....it's time to feel free.

I feel my transformation take place & eventually, I turned into a complete wolf.
I run towards the woods, past my treehouse & go straight to the waterfall cliff.

I stood there, with my tail & head laid down on that little old rock 4 years ago.
The first night I transformed, I came here with Errol, Azariah, & Joshua & we all slept here.

I even remember when Joshua stood watch all night to watch over us.

I turn my body over so that I can stare at the night sky.

I just slept on that rock through the entire night.

(The Next Day)
Aka: Thanksgiving

I'm at my house reading my book on my bed when my bedroom door opened.

I looked up & saw Yaya with Erika, Renee, Jakeline, Azariah, Devin, Shari, & Joshua.
"I let them in.", Yaya stated before closing the door & leaving.

"Ya need something?", I asked.
"Yeah. We want u to come over to my house tonight so that we can all have a Thanksgiving meal.", Erika said crossing her arms.
"Sorry, I don't feel like doing anything tonight.", I said going back to my book.

I saw a hand slide, picked up & closed my book shut.
"Hey!", i said looking up as Azariah has my book in her hands.
"It was an order, we weren't asking.", Jakeline states.
"Why do I apparently "need" to come to this Thanksgiving dinner?", I said in quotations.
"It'll be fun & well....u need the fresh air. Yaya & Riky say that you've been trapped in your room nowadays. Besides, Mariah & Lexi are planning the whole thing.", Shari states.
"Wait Mariah? If she's planning then....who else is gonna be there?", I asked suspiciously.
"Well...us! And.....Lexi, Mariah, Daniel, Kevin!😁", Shari said quickly.
"Wait, what did u just say?!😠", I said loudly.
"I said that we are gonna be there.🤗", she said innocently.
"After that part.", I said.
"Kevin?😅", she states smiling.
"No, u said, Lexi, Mariah, Kevin, & Daniel?!😡", I said semi-yelling & getting up mad.
"Look, Melody! We know u & Daniel aren't on talking terms...."
"No. Let's face it, Melody's not on talking terms with barely anybody...", Erika stated cutting off Renee.
"But we really want u to come to the dinner tonight. Please! I swear nothing will happen!", Renee continues.
"I don't care about no stinking-ass get together dinner! We're not fucking tweens with dreams about going on a cruise ship & finding our soulmates! We ain't on a show here! So I don't need to be in the same room as him or nobody else. Just please, leave me alone.", I said.
"Melody, all we ask of u is to go to dinner tonight for just a few hours. You don't even have to look at Daniel but at least have a bit of fun.", Devin states stepping up.
