Here's a short fanfic from miraculous ladybug. It was originally part of a 'extra chapter' thing that I had because I didn't like it that if I had to interrupt the story with an useless author's note, and instead, add a cute little extra short story along with my author's note instead.

Adrien looked up at the picture of his mother on the wall. This was one of the rare times he had free. His mother disappeared a long time ago, and his father had been an unloving cruel man ever since. Do I have anyone in my life that truly loves me? He thought silently.
Three sharp knocks on his door meant that he had company... Though probably not very good company. Either Natalie or the Gorilla. Maybe even his father.
"Come in." he said drearily.
"Uh, hi Adrien" a shy voice replied.
Marinette stood in the doorway, half peeking out, holding a small stack of papers. They had a project today, and they were assigned groups at school. Mrs. Bustier had arranged two people in a group, one boy, one girl; Adrien and Marinette, Nino and Alya, Alix and Kim, Max and Sabrina, Nathanael and Juleka, Mylene and Ivan and Chloe with Rose and Lila since there were more girls than boys.
(See what I did there?😏)
Adrien got up and took a spare chair over to his desk and Marinette took the seat plopping the papers onto the desk. There was an awkward silence between them.
"Soooo....How's school been lately?" He tried to ask casually, noticing that Marinette was staring at him.
"What? I meant, you're awesome, no,no, no... I meant, awesome's school! Garh! I mean, awesome. Just awesome Marinette." she stammered.
He raised an eyebrow.
"O-ok, let's just work the start-I meant start the work." she grinned cheesily, blushing really hard.
As they worked, there was an awkward silence that started to build up, and Adrien decided to break it.
"Right, what do you think, do you like ladybug or Chatnoir  Marinette and why?"
"Oh, ladybug for sure, I mean, she's brave strong, cleanses akumas, has an awesome yo-yo that gives her her lucky charm, which she has to be smart to figure out how to use it and ofcourse, she's the main one out of the duo." she replied. All her usual stutters disappeared as soon as we started the conversation. Plus, she seemed to know a lot about ladybug... Though it wasn't really surprising since her friend owned the infamous lady blog.
"Well, I think that Chatnoir is pretty slick. Like ladybug, he is brave strong and smart and he pulls witty cat puns,"
"Which are, not to mention, really bad" budged in Marinette
"Hey I happen to think that they're funny!"
"Not me. They're just annoying."
"Anyway, as I was saying, Chatnoir also has cataclysm and its pretty awesome how he can summon up the power and what it does, doesn't it? Plus he has green coloured night vision and feline instincts, like when he faced animan, he heard that eagle coming from miles away."he defended, but then realised what he had said.
"How come you knew that ladybug and Chatnoir did that? They were in my house after all. I didn't see you there!" she questioned.
"I um... Am best friends with him?" It came out more like a question than an answer.
"Hmph."
He could tell that she didn't believe him, but they were interrupted by a loud crash outside...

"Bakery work!!!"

"Photo shoot!"

they both cried out at the same time. Then, Marinette gave Adrien a funny look before dashing off and out the door.

Adrien glanced at where marinette had gone. The way she had stared at him... It was like as if she knew him...

Marinette's POV

I can't believe it.

I wont believe it.

Adrien IS NOT, CAN NOT be chatnoir.

That punny, loud-mouthed showoff of a friendly partner.

I dont hate him or anything, its just, his puns that get on my nerves and his flirting.
I brush these thoughts out of my mind as I say the magic words that would transform me into my alter-ego; Ladybug.
"Tikki! Spots on!"
As Tikki flew into my earrings, the familiar mask settles into the curves of my skin and the tight spotted-costume appeared in place of my clothes.

Adrien's POV
After my transformation, I gather all my thoughts and put them away to focus the task at hand.
Landing on a building close to where the sound came from, I look around and spot my lady.
"Hey LB! What do you think's going on?"
"I have a feeling that there's a new akuma in town chat. Plus the fact that we're going to do whatever it takes to get rid of it."

No ones POV
"Chat!Are you listening?"
"Ladybug..."
"What?"
"Listen!"
"To what?"
"Exactly! It's gone quiet. Far too quiet for comfort."
Ladybug shook her head, not understanding.
"Chatnoir! Stop with your games, this is no time to be fooling around and listening to quiet, we need to find the akuma, and quick!"
"Ladyb-"
"No chat, come on!"
"Lad-"
"What did I say? Just shush okay?"
"Will you just listen to me for once in your life!?" Chatnoir burst out. He knew he couldn't stop it, he wanted to, but he couldn't.
Ladybug stared at him. He looked like as if he was on the verge of crying.
"What?!" Her voice was harsh. She didn't want it to be, but it was.
"Oh, finally! Now that wasn't so hard, was it?" he replied, anger behind his voice.
"Oh, I see, so you don't want me to be with you right? You don't want to work beside me."
"Fine! Why do you have to be so bossy anyway? Why have you got to be the most popular one? The most important one? The one who always saves the day? I never get credit! I've always kept quiet, knowing that I'll only ever be the sidekick of the great one , ladybug!"
"Why are you doing this Chat? How could you do this to me? I-"
"I'm not doing anything to you, you are just arguing against me!"
"Well you were the one that started it!"
"Me? Starting the argument? All I did was try to give you some advice, which you didn't bother to take to heart! I just wanted to get a point across, but you wouldn't listen!"
"I'm sorry? It,s not my fault that I'm more appreciated than you! But then and again, I do do more work than you, I mean, captured and late when we were fighting akumas, whereas I was always there, actually doing something to help!"
"Well then, where were you when we were fighting the Evillustrator?! Also, it's not my fault that I actually try my best to protect you! After all, I don't see that you are always on time! Princess fragrance? Stone Heart? What about Volpina? Why did you shout at her for being a liar? She want doing anything that meant harm! She was just trying to impress me!"
Ladybug shot him an angry look, not realising the full extent of Chatnoir's words when he used me, instead of him.
"You should know that I was inexperienced when we were fighting Ivan, and you wouldn't ever understand how I felt when she was lying to his face about how she was a super-heroine when she was obviously not!" She yelled
Chatnoir seethed with anger, but hurt and guilt also nagged at him.
"Well you certainly don't know how I feel. Alone, no mother, and uncaring father. Always sitting alone with no friends, doing things that I don't want to, just to please people. I'm just a piece in all of this. A piece in the game where, I'm destined to die, because, one way or another, I know that I'll probably never have a happy ending! That you'll never show affection!"
"Chat..."
"Leave! You said you didn't want me anyway!"
And with that, he extends his staff and runs into the distance.
The light dimmed, the sun was covered with a cloud. It started to rain.
Ladybug felt like her heart cracked in half. What had she done?
