Arthur pulled into the driveway of the shopping mall and parked his car two rows away from the entrance of the mall. He turned his car off and got out along with Allistor, Francis, and (Name). “You two can go on ahead and look for a bathing suit,” Arthur said. “I have to go look for a swimsuit of my own as well. And I suppose I’ll have to stop by your house after we leave, Francis. You need your things. too.”
Allistor snicked softly and discarded his used cigarette on the parking lot ground. “Have fun in the women’s section, Francey.” He followed Arthur into the store to go into the men’s department to look for swimsuits.
Francis took (Name)’s hand in her own and started walking with her. She didn’t seem to be straining herself as much when she walked anymore. “You’re walking much better, (Name),” Francis said.
(Name) nodded and smiled up at him. “It’s because you helped me learn, Francis,” she said. “You held my hand and walked next to me the whole time. I’m walking because of you.”
Francis blushed and kept holding (Name)’s hand as they walked into the mall together. “It doesn’t feel like I’ve done that much. Holding your hand and making sure you don’t fall is pretty much all I’ve done.”
“Trust me, you’ve done much more than that. You saved my life and kept me from falling all the time. That’s more important to me than you may know, Francis.”
“Is it really?” Francis felt like he could do so much more for (Name) besides holding her hand all the time, but he didn’t have any magical powers like Arthur and Allistor to help her get her memory and tail back. He supposedly had some of (Name)’s power, but what good would it do anyone if he had no idea how to use them?
“Of course it is, Francis. It means a lot to me that you help me. I haven’t even done anything for you yet. I wish there was something I could do.”
“I’m just glad you’re here with me, (Name). That’s all that counts to me.”
(Name) smiled the same innocent smile she always gave to him. “Thank you, Francis. You’re one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”
“So are you (Name).” Francis smiled back at her, the same warm sensation filling him just as it did every time he saw her smile.
Before long they ended up in the women’s section of the mall where the bathing suits were located. “Pick out whichever one you like, (Name).” (Name) was already looking through each of the bathings suits but she was having a hard time deciding which one to pick out.
“They all look good, Francis,” (Name) said. “I don’t know which one to pick.”
“Take your time, (Name),” Francis said. “There’s no need to rush.” Francis stood by as (Name) searched through the many different bathing suits. He didn’t realize until just now that (Name) wasn’t holding his hand anymore; she was walking all on her own. She had already learned so quickly, as if she had been walking her whole life.
(Name) looked into the rack of bathing suits and pulled one out on a hanger. “What about this one?” The one she had picked out was barely a bathing suit at all; He could see right through it and it wouldn’t be able to cover her at all. He blushed and took the bathing suit from her, setting it back down on the rack.
“Maybe another one will work better,” Francis said.
“Why, what’s wrong with the other one?”
“I’ll just look for you.” Francis looked through the bathing suits on the rack until he found a simple, one piece blue bathing suit with a belt going across the middle of it. “How about this one?”
