Francis... He heard his name echo from the darkness that surrounded him. Francis. He started to open his eyes as the voice became clearer and clearer within his mind. “Francis!” The voice shouted out to him, making his eyes shoot open instantly. He could’ve sworn that it was the girl from his dreams calling out to him again but the last one was definitely just Alfred.
“Alfred?” He sat up and grunted, holding his head as pain shot through him and a cold cloth fell onto his lap from his forehead.
Kiku got up from his seat and got Francis to lay back down on the bed. “Please don’t strain yourself. Francis-san,” Kiku said.
Francis kept his hand on his head trying to null the pain coursing through it. “What happened?” He asked. “I can’t really remember anything.”
“Dude you passed out all of a sudden and got everyone worried to death,” Alfred said. “We have no idea what happened.”
Francis sighed and shifted his head slightly to find comfort. “I’m sorry I worried you.”
“It’s okay Francis-san,” Kiku said. “We were worried that you could perhaps be sick.”
“I’m fine,” Francis said as he pulled himself up with his arms. “I’m not sick. It was nothing more than a fainting spell.” Kiku continued glancing at him unsure if he was actually telling the truth about his condition. He would like to know if something was really wrong. He did find him unconscious along the beach not too long ago after all. This could be something more serious that he could be letting on.
“I believe that you should go to a hospital,” Kiku said. “This is the second time you’ve fallen unconscious in such a short amount of time.”
Francis shook his head. “I don’t need to go to a hospital,” Francis said. None of them would ever believe that he actually passed out after hearing the girl from his dreams calling out to him, or that he had actually seen her the night before he was found unconscious on the beach. They would probably think he was delusional if he tried to tell anyone about that. He used his arms to push himself up again and tried to ignore the dizziness he felt. “I’ll be fine.”
Kiku sighed. Maybe Francis was just being a little more stubborn that usual. “In any case, everyone else is waiting for you in the living room.”
Francis nodded and stood up looking to the clock. He had been unconscious for at least an hour now. There was no question that everyone was worried about him when he passed out. At least now he could tell them that he was alright. He went to the living room where everyone was gathered. It didn’t seem like anyone had even really touched their food. Gilbert and Antonio were of course the first ones to jump up and half tackle Francis.
“You’re alright!” Gilbert yelled out.
“We thought you had gotten sick!” Antonio said worriedly.
Francis laughed lightly as Gilbert and Antonio backed away from Francis. “I’m alright you two,” Francis said. “It was nothing honestly.”
“Well that ‘nothing’ scared us to death!” Gilbert said.
“It isn’t natural to pass out in the middle of nowhere frog,” Arthur said.
“He’s got a point,” Ludwig said.
“You can’t pass something like that off as nothing Francis,” Yao said.
“I’m really fine everyone,” Francis said. “Go ahead and eat before your food spoils and stop worrying so much about me.” Francis took his place sandwiched between Gilbert and Antonio as he was before the whole fainting spell happened. No one protested when he said that they could start eating but they stayed silent for the most part, still giving Francis worried glances. He wished they wouldn’t worry so much but he didn’t really blame them after what had happened. Everyone was starting to leave after having a short conversation and finishing their food. Alfred was trying to convince Francis to let him drive him home but he turned him down saying that he would be fine riding home by himself. It was already bad enough that everyone else was worrying so much about him. He only felt like he would be more of a burden on Alfred if he kept him worrying as well.
