*The Next Day*Scott packed up his duffel bag and got the car started. As he was coming down the canyon the snow was mostly melted, and the leaves, the ones still on the trees, were beautiful shades of oranges, yellows, and reds.
"I've got one less, one less- woah...." there was a huge car crash in front of him, one blue mini van, kind of like the one from yesterday, and a black truck. He stopped the car, and opened the trunk pulling out the first aid kit he kept there. Mitch didn't know it was there, no one did. He rushed over to the two cars, he pulled out his phone and tried to call 911, but since he was in the canyon there was no cell service. The driver of the black truck was passed out, he had a pretty bad gash in his head.
He rushed over to the blue mini van, a woman, probably mid thirties, with three kids in the back seat. She was also unconscious, but all three kids were awake from what he could see. The vehicle was on its side. He climbed on top of the car, his chest feeling like it was on fire, and opened up the back door. The one child closest to him a blonde hair, green eyed girl looked like she was 16. The other, a boy, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, probably 13. And the last another girl, dirty blonde hair, and green eyes, was only 7ish.
"Hi, I'm Scott, I know you guys are probably scared out of your minds right now but I need to know if your okay, do you feel any pain anywhere. At all. Even if your in the slightest bit of pain I need to know."
"My leg hurts a little bit.." the boy said.
"Okay. Anything else I need to know."
"My arm hurts a bit." The older girl said sounding pained.
"Okay. Nothing from you?" He said asking the little girl.
"No.." she said shyly.
"Okay. I need to know your guys' names."
"I'm Rachel," the small girl said.
"Okay, hi Rachel."
"I'm Jake," the boy said.
"And I'm Colleen."
"Okay. I'm going to go check on your mom, and the other driver then I'm quickly going to go find cellular service to call 911."
"Okay," the all answered in unison.
Scott jumped down, his thighs burning from where he cut the day before.
He went around to where the driver side was and the woman, the mother of the children, her eyes open, still. Scott started to tear up. He couldn't handle death. How was he going to explain this to Rachel, Jake, and Colleen? Scott got up wiped his tears and went to check on the driver of the truck.
He also, was dead.
Shit! Shit! What am I supposed to do now?!
He walked away from the truck, going back to the van.
"Hey, so um...guys do you think you can get your seat belts unbuckled?"
"Yeah," they all answered at different times.
After they were all unbuckled Scott explained that he was going to get them out of the car. He picked Colleen up under her arms and puts her down on the ground, he does the same to Jake, and Rachel.
