"What do you mean I committed suicide?" I ask in shock.
"I erased your memories before sending Will to be your mentor," Markimis says, trying to calm me.
"Did you know about this?" I ask Will, worried he betrayed me.
"No, I never knew a thing," Will states.
"Nobody in the afterlife knows but me, and know you and Will," Markimis says. "Here, so you understand."
He touches my forehead and the memories come flooding back.

Two months ago. 12 o'clock am.
I'm done. Being bullied at school, being abused at home. I can't take it anymore. I deserve to die the same way my mom and sister died.
I'm in my car, in front of the cliff. Most people would get wasted then off themselves, but I want to be sober. I deserve to feel it.
I push on the gas petal and drive to my demise.

"So that's how I had to redeem myself," I say, beginning to understand. "I had to have the will to live again."
"Yes." Markimis smiles at me. "And now you've earned eternal happiness."
Something occurs to me.
"But what about Will?" I ask Markimis.
"I assume by now Will has told you about Luke," Markimis says. I nod. "Well then you know that Will has to make up for his crimes by spending eternity helping souls earn their way to heaven."
"Yes, but-" I look up at Markimis pleadingly. "Can he please come with me to hell?"
Will looks shocked. "What are you doing," he asks me. "You've earned your way to hell, and I can't go with you."
"But maybe you can," I say hopefully. "Markimis, I'll do anything, just please let WILL come with me."
"I'm sorry Nico," Markimis responds apologetically. "But I already let him off easy when I didn't execute him for his crimes. I can't let him just go to hell after what he's done."
"But there has to be something I can do," I continue. "Please."
"I'm really, really sorry Nico, but I can't. Now are you going to go to hell or not?"
An idea suddenly pops in my head.
"Wait a minute," I say. "Can I stay with Will and become a mentor?"
"I guess you can," Markimis says. "But do you really want to spend eternity killing monsters. You could just come with me and be happy forever."
I think about it for a minute.
"I've made my decision."
