Chapter Thirty

Flash back

(4th of July)

"Mr. Sullivan! How ya doing? It's good to see you!" I greeted Jazmine's father. Kav and I were the first ones to get to his people crib for the annual 4th of July get together. Everything seems so weird now that Jazmine and I aren't together.

I have the upmost respect for Jazmine's father, but I already know that he is about to give me an earful about Jazmine, so I might as well take this L right now.

"Let's talk son" He sighed patting the couch next to his chair in the den. I sat down and turned towards him some.

"So the things I'm hearing are true huh?" He raised his eyebrow.

"Yeah, trust me. It is killing me that she and I are not together. But she seems happy with her new dude, and the last thing I want to do is ruin something that she's happy in" I express.

He chuckled and shook his head.

"Son, just because she seems happy doesn't mean that she is happy. Jazmine is a Daddy's girl. Trust me I know my babygirl. She absolutely loves you and I'm sure she's forcing herself to move on from you. But sometimes when you love someone the wrong thing is to just let it go hoping that it will come back. If you love her like I know you. You need to step up and show her that you are that man she's madly in love with." He smiled some.

"You always have good words of advice. But honestly Don, I think she's serious about our break-up. I cheated on her. Something I've never ever done and now I'm really paying for it."

"But you yet you're not single either though. You're in a relationship with the girl you cheated on Jazzy with right?" He asked nudging my shoulder.

I chuckled and nodded my head.

"Yeah, I guess we are both forcing to move on from each other."

"But when the time's right, can I ask for your blessing in marrying her?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

He smiled and sat back and relaxed.

"Son, ever since you all had Olivia I thought that marriage was always going to come soon after. But you all are doing things at your own pace. So yes, when you and Jaz are both at that point. Propose to her, but have the absolute right intentions this time" He extending his hand out.

"Thank you Sir" I shook his hand.

"What y'all in here doing?" Jaz mom came in smiling.

"When the time's right. He's gonna ask our baby to marry him again. He just wanted my proper blessing" He explained as she came to sit down next to him.

"I always knew you guys would end up back together. One way or another"

So for these last couple chapters leading up to the end of the book I'm going to do some flashbacks to tie up some loose ends.
