Days passed by. Every single day was exactly the same routine. Quite frankly I didn't mind. I have nothing to do. I have no friends. I would scare them all away either with my personality or just the fact that I have these crazy nightmares I couldn't control.
I once had this friend, her name was Violet. She was the new girl in school and being the social butterfly I was when I was 10, I introduced myself. We got along well for a while but then she started missing school days and finally stop showing up at school. I never found out what happened to her.
Violet was your typical nice girl and she was too innocent to hear what everyone thought about me. Again, I wasn't your normal child. Hearing what other people thought would have scared her and I'd like to think she didn't hear everything but once she stopped appearing in school I knew she did.
Other than that, my only friend was my mom. I know, pathetic.
I was so involved in my thoughts I didn't realize my free period was over and had to go to the living hell of 1st period.
Mrs. Jardine was okay at times but she was one hell of a teacher. Never broke a rule and if you were even 2 seconds late she would know and give you detention.
So in efforts of not getting detention, I walk past everyone and try to push my way but its pointless. Everyone is walking like zombies. I give up and once I got to a free pass I zoom my way into Mrs. Jardine's class.
The bell had just rung and I came in .5 seconds late. To my surprise, Mrs. Jardine wasn't there. No teacher, no adults, just hormonal teenagers talking their day away. So while people are talking to their friends, I'm sitting in the back of the class waiting for a teacher to come in.
I waited 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 15 minutes.
I was getting desperate. Not that I wanted to learn but I was bored. Once again, I have no friends. So nothing was left for me to do. Out of boredom, I look around the classroom. I see the populars, geeks, and social rejects in their groups but I couldn't help notice a girl sitting on the other side of the room. She's reading a book called Looking for Alaska, in peace and quiet. I had never seen her but I didn't pay attention to anyone here either.
I got even more desperate. I'm a quiet girl and had no experience in making friends. To top if off, I'm socially awkward. My personality isn't helping but I wanted to know who was this gray-haired girl in the back of the room. By this point, I stood up and started to walk over to her.
I go behind her and tap her shoulder. She immediately turns her head towards me and scans me from head to toe.
"Hello, you must Azure!" She says. The gray head girl gave me an enormous smile and her hand was stretched her out towards me. Did she want to shake my hand?
"Are you going to shake my hand, Azure?" She says.
I immediately shake her hand. It was such a strange thing to do but in fact, everything was strange.
"My name is Clementine. I love your blue hair!" Clementine exclaims
She sees color?
"Wait, my hair is blue? I always thought it was black. My mom told me it was, I just oh my god...I thought it was bl-" I start to ramble
"Azure, calm down. It is black but you have small hints of blue highlights. They're electric blue highlights." She says and chuckles a little bit.
I look down at my hair, I can't tell if I had blue colors in my hair. I can't tell if her hair was brown or pink. I can't see color. She does.
