I woke up feeling strange, I had some strange sensation that today something bad was gonna happen. And usually when I have that feeling, I'm right about it.

I was 8, I woke up a morning feeling strange just like today. Nothing happened that day until the night. It was the first time I had my nightmare.

Then the feeling happened again when I was 13. That day everything went wrong in school. Kids bullied me for the first time, lunch got spilled all over me, and I ended up getting shoved into a locker after lunch.

Even with the feeling in my bones, I shook it off and decided to go to school.

Most of the days, I get to school early to see Delaney and Michael. Today I assume they are dressed up as something since it was the annual costume contest at school. My assumptions were correct. When I walk to the lunch table I see they're dressed as Jack and Sally.

"Azure! Why aren't you dressed up? It's the annual Halloween contest," Michael says

"I don't know," I shrug, "I'm not much of a Halloween person" I say

Michael and Delaney gasp and look at me if I said just said the most offensive thing on earth.

"Okay, she just said that and I'm just gonna act like I didn't hear that,"

"Michael..."

"GIVE ME YOUR MAKEUP,"

And I never saw the daylight ever again.

I'm kidding but Michael dressed me up. He grabbed Delaney's white, orange, and black makeup. He handed me a white dress and some white ears on a headband. I went to change and came back to the whole group standing in shock.

"She looks amazing,"

"Zero is alive!"

"Michael, you're a genius. We're winning the contest,"

"I am a genius. So everyone may I present to you Zero, Jack and Sally's dog!"

I looked down and my costume. I realized he had dressed me as Zero. Why am I dog?

The group claps and cheers, while earning some looks from others. Emerald had noticed that so she stood on the lunch table and Delaney tried getting her off.

"That's right, we're cheering for our friend. Is that weird? Huh? You guys can back off. Back off moth-" Emerald suddenly get cut off by Delaney putting her hand over her mouth

"I'm sorry everyone. Continue to your stuff..." Delaney quickly apologized and started yelling at Emerald for being so open.

While the group settled down I looked at their costumes. Ashton and Luke dressed Mario and Luigi. Mai and Orabella dressed as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Emerald as something of a girl joker version (which I did a mental note to ask what is was). Clementine as Catwoman. Harper dressed as a zombie.

"Wow. You guys really do put some effort into your Halloween costumes," I said. I was embarrassed. I was here being the dog to Delaney and Michael when they just put so much effort to their costumes.

Delaney noticed my embarrassment and said, "We do and that's okay that you didn't bring a costume. I'm glad you are Michael and I's dog."

She hugged me. Is this how it felt like having someone who cares? If it was, oh how good it felt.

"We're invited to this Halloween party at 8 tonight. It's one of those 'all college kids and cool people' thing. I don't know how the whole group invited since we aren't college kids nor cool but we want you to go since you're part of us now." Delaney smiled

Was I really part of the group now? Oh my god, I never had friends.

"Well I guess if you guys go then yes."

What did I get myself into...

so its been since October since i wrote so yeah maybe 1-2 months.

i apologize.

so this isn't the full chapter but i was like ahhhhh screw it

and yes if you do notice this was supposed to be written/published for Halloween but uh lets pretend i did.
