Sam was in the hospital for a week. We all took turns visiting him, and he looked better everyday. When he was finally discharged, I told him he didn't have to go back to school yet, but he insisted.

The first Monday he was back, I helped him limp into the school. He was only able to use one crutch because of the broken wrist and collar bone, so it was a pretty interesting ordeal. We went and dropped off our stuff at our first hours, and then went to find Gabe and Cas.

We found them reading in a back corner of one of the downstairs halls, and sat down with them. Nobody said anything, we just enjoyed each other's company. We knew that from then on, no matter what, we had each other's backs and nobody could put us down. Gabe was an upperclassman, so he was already intimidating.  Cas was an in-shape genius, and I was an ex-football player. Nobody could mess with us.
