Matthew's POV

An enticing scent of evergreen trees and fresh falling rain pulls me closer to my prisoner as I admire her from a distance. She's mine, my wolf wanted her too. I wanted her sleeping in my arms, the peaceful look she has is beautiful but I didn't want the guards to see her like this, so they stand outside in case she escapes. She wouldn't though, the stone walls are laced with silver and the bars would be impossible to cut through. I'm surprised when she walks up to touch them, but laugh at how cute she was when she pulls back and her eyebrows draw together. I wanted to get her out of there, but I know she's dangerous. Most of the pack want her dead.

The thought of her dying was agitating Peter, he wanted to caress her and kiss her, hell even I wanted to do that. She was so beautiful with glossy black hair that fell in waves around her waist, and pale features that made her eyes pop. I think they were black but I'm not sure so I walk towards her and notice that they were a deep blue, her scent also held a hint of vanilla that drove me crazy. I wanted to hug her right then but got a grip on myself and greeted her poisonously.

"I see your awake, rogue."

"Well isn't your chivalry outstanding." She remarks, rolling her eyes.

"I'm Matthew, Alpha of the Crimson Eclipse pack You?"

"Arabella, the rogue from the forest." keeping up her sarcasm.

"Well Arabella, you have trespassed on my territory and for that you will be punished." My wolf scowled at the way I was treating my mate, but I knew better than to let her run off for free. She must face the consequences, I have let her live when everyone wanted her dead. It's a price she must pay.

"Please let me go, I won't bother your pack or enter your territory again." I growl when she says she wants to leave. She's mine, I'll never let her go.

"No. You'll stay." I say in a low voice. She'll stay with me.

"Look Matthew, I don't want anything to do with you or your pack." My wolf began to panic, but I was in control.

"Arabella, you have trespassed, no amount of bargaining will get you out." I walk out, leaving her in silence.

No one needed to know she was my mate, that would only stir trouble. Two alpha's mating were as rare as Arabella. We were too dominant, too possessive. Beta Evelyn would guard her when I let her out tomorrow. Tonight, she would stay in the cell.

Beta Evelyn bowed as she approached me. "How was she?"

"You'll guard her at my house tomorrow. I'm letting her out but make sure she cleans every single room. I want my house spotless by the end of tomorrow. Keep a tight leash on her, even when she goes to the bathroom. No going outside, no breaking anything, no letting anyone else into the house. Only you and Arabella. Got it?" I list. Arabella would be safe with Evelyn, and I would be certain that no one else would take her away from me.

"Yes Alpha Matthew." Beta Evelyn said cheerfully.

"Don't look too happy. Make sure no one else comes into my house. Only you and Arabella. No leaving either." I repeat, just to be safe.

"Yes Alpha."

"That will be all. Be at my place by ten am tomorrow."

"If I may ask, what made you change your mind about killing her?"

"I'll give her a chance because I believe in your judgement." I lie, she could tell but questioned me no further.

The next morning, I woke early. Washing up and eating took up most of the hour before I leave to see Arabella. I arrive at the high security prison at nine to release her. Her captivating scent invites me to come closer and she stands to walk towards me with her hands behind her back. I draw out the key and place it into the lock and kick the bared cage so I wouldn't have to touch the silver.

"Good morning, Arabella." I greet softly, liking how pretty her name sounded.

"Good morning, Matthew." My wolf danced at the sound of her voice. She was eyeing the open door but made no move to escape, I knew she wanted to though but I wouldn't let her.

"The area is guarded, if you escape, you'll get caught."

"I wasn't going to." she huffed.

"Come." I say, gently taking her hand. A thousand sparks erupted from my touch as I held on tighter, taking pleasure in the feeling of her smooth milky skin. I was surprised she let me touch her instead of pulling away the very instant.

"Where are we going?" She asked, looking down at our joined hand and shifting her fingers so that they interlaced with mine.

"Home."
