Amethyst's POV
"Out of all the DJs you could've hired, it had to be him?" I asked.
"You know him?" Ken asked.
"Know him? I used to idolize him," I replied. "He played as the green samurai ranger on the TV series when I was fourteen and then he shows up on my birthday last month." I looked at Hector. "He disappointed me. Look, I don't wanna be here if he's going to be here."
"Ken, if my girl don't feel comfortable, we heading out," Patrick replied.
"I know man," Ken nodded. "Sorry that happened. I guess I'll see you guys at the graduation reunion in a couple months."
"Yeah," Patrick replied. "Do you know the theme for that?"
"Red carpet night," Ken nodded. "Just like prom, but classier."
"Alright, thanks man," Patrick nodded. He grabbed my hand and we walked out to his car. We stood by his car. "Do you really want to go home now?"
"Not really," I sighed as I looked at my phone. "It's only seven fifteen."
"Let's go to the mall then," Patrick smiled. We got into the car. "That okay with you?"
"Aren't we a bit over dressed?" I asked.
"Then where do you wanna go?"
"Let's go to Kohl's. Mind as well, since we decided to skip out of the reunion." Patrick drove us to Kohl's and we got out of the car and walked inside. "We'll just walk around until something catches our eye."
We started walking around. "So, this is where you work?"
"Uh-huh," I nodded.
"Alexis, what are you doing here?" my boss, Jeremy, asked. "I thought you took today off for a school reunion."
"His school reunion but I don't get along with their DJ," I responded. "We left and came here."
"Out of all places, you come to your work?" Jeremy asked. "Is your car out there?"
"No, we brought his car," I smiled.
"He does have a name, if I'm not mistaken," Jeremy stated.
"Jeremy, this is my boyfriend, Patrick," I smiled. "Patrick, this is Jeremy."
"Nice to meet you, sir," Patrick smiled add they shook hands.
"Boyfriend?" Jeremy questioned. "How many guys are you going to have but not bring here?"
"Patrick's the only one I've brought here," I replied. "He's the only one I started dating after a year and nine months." Patrick had his arm around me. "We've been together for a month already." My phone rang. "Sorry." I looked at it. "We gotta go." I grabbed Patrick's hand and walked outside. We got into his car and I picked up the phone. "What is it?"
"We need you, baby girl," said the male voice. I knew exactly who it was. "Can't figure it out."
"You now what to do," I smiled. "I'll be there as soon as I grab my things." I hung up as Patrick started driving. "May we swing by my house really quickly?"
"Yeah," Patrick nodded.
I called Uncle Tony. "Hello?" Uncle Tony picked up.
"I need my gadgets," I smiled.
"Got it," Uncle Tony replied.
"Be there in ten," I sighed and hung up. We got to my house and walked inside. "Is it on my bed?"
"Just like always," Uncle Tony nodded.
"Thanks," I smiled. I walked into my room and took off the belt that was connected to my dress. I put on my other belt that had my cuffs, gun, and badge on it. I walked into the living room checking my phone. "I need to get to the park that's ten minutes away from here."
"Where's the girl I was with about five minutes ago?" Patrick asked.
"I'm right here, you idiot," I sighed as I pulled my hair into a pony tail.
"No, because the last girl I was with had her hair down without a gun, badge, or handcuffs," Patrick pointed. "Who are you and what have you done with Amethyst?"
"I'm guessing he doesn't know," Uncle Tony sighed.
"Not very many people know since I go to school and work two jobs," I replied. "I keep my second job kinda hidden from everyone."
"What are you?" Patrick asked.
"You haven't met me yet," I sighed. "I'm Supervisory Special Agent Alexis Inthavong."
"How are you afraid of clowns?" Patrick asked.
"I'm not anymore," I nodded. "Now, can you drive me to the park?"
"Yeah," Patrick nodded. We got into Patrick's car and he drove us to the park. He parked next to the police tape and we got out. "What happened here?"
"That's what I'm fixing to find out," I replied. I crossed the tape but the officer stopped Patrick. "He's with me." Patrick was let through and we walked up to a group of people. "Wanna catch me up?"
"Baby girl," Morgan looked at me. He gave me a hug. "I thought you got lost."
"I thought I said not to call," I smiled.
"Was the reunion really that good?" Morgan asked.
"When you called I was already at Kohl's," I nodded. "So, what's the case? Do you have a file? Spence, you must have one on you."
"I do," Reid replied as he handed me a file. "There you go."
"Thank you," I smiled. "Patrick, you're good to go home. I gotta work." He looked at me. "I'll see you whenever I get home, okay?" I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he left. "Okay."
"Who was that?" JJ asked.
"My boyfriend," I sighed as I looked at the file. "It was his school reunion that we went to." I looked at JJ as she was looking at me. "You thought it was my reunion?"
"Yeah," JJ nodded.
"Girl, I'm not that old now," I replied. I looked at the case file. "So, apparently we are looking for an arsonist?"
"Yeah," Morgan replied. "One little boy and one little girl."
"Okay," I sighed.
"Hotchner," Hotch stated as he picked up his phone. We looked at him. "We're ready to give the profile." He hung up. "He just abducted a sixteen year old girl. Let's go give a rough profile."
"We don't have much time and he's moving fast," I sighed. "We need to move faster. Let's get a ride to the station."
"Baby girl, station is right down the road," Morgan replied.
"You guys walked here?" I asked. Morgan asked. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me." I started walking with Morgan. "You know, you could've told me that you didn't have a car. I could've had a ride."
"Are you complaining?" JJ asked.
"I am in six inch heels," I replied. "Of course I'm complaining." We walked past an abandoned warehouse as it blew up. I fell to the ground. Morgan hovering over me to over me from the debris. I got up with a ringing in my ear but I can hear kids screaming. "We gotta get in there and help them." I grabbed the door handle with my right hand but it burned my hand. "Ah." I used my foot and opened the door. Morgan and I walked inside. I saw the unsub run out. Hotch ran past us to go after the unsub. "Let's get the kids out of here and that woman." I looked at the girl and the boy. I ran over to the boy first. "I'm going to get you out, okay. My name is Amethyst. I'm going to get you out, okay?" I grabbed the lock. "Come on." I tried picking the lock but it wouldn't budge. "Okay." I stood up and got out my gun. "I need you stay still and turn your head the other way." The boy did. I emptied half of my clip before the lock broke. "Finally." I got the boy up. "Follow him out."
"You got the girl?!" Morgan asked.
"I'm on it!" I exclaimed. I ran over to the girl and an explosion was cause. I fell backwards. I rolled over to my stomach and used my right hand to lift me but I burned it on something more. "AH!" I slowly got up. "I'm coming."
"Amethyst!" the girl yelled. "Help me!"
Morgan ran in and grabbed me. "Baby girl, we gotta go," Morgan stated. "We gotta go. The whole place is going to blow!"
"No, no, no," I tried fighting. "I have to save her!" I got out of Morgan's grip and ran over to the girl. "I'm going to save you." Morgan grabbed me and we got out of the way as the cans of gasoline blew up right beside the girl. Morgan got me out of the warehouse. "We could've saved her."
"Baby girl, you did the best you could," Morgan replied. "There was no telling the fire would spread like that." The ambulance and fire department arrived on scene. A medic came and handed me an oxygen mask. I put it on and they bandaged my hand. "You couldn't have predicted anything."
"Morgan," I looked at him with the oxygen mask on. "I could've saved her, but I went for her brother first." I nodded. "I should've observed the scene more carefully and realized that she was in a more critical situation than her brother." I took off my mask. "It was a no brainer." Hotch walked up to us. "Hey."
"I think you should take some time off," Hotch nodded.
"No, I'm fine to work," I nodded. "I'm okay."
"It wasn't a suggestion," Hotch replied.
"Okay, fine," I replied. "I'll take time off. Call me if you need me."
"You know where to find us in Quantico," Morgan replied.
"I know," I nodded. I got up and started walking. I managed to walk all the way home in my heels. I walked through the front door. Patrick and Uncle Tony were sitting on the couch. "Hey guys."
"Were you in a fire?" Uncle Tony asked.
"Yes," I sighed as I closed the door. "I'm going to take a shower and go to bed."
"No, you're not," Uncle Tony replied. "Sit down. You're going to get whatever image you in your head out, because I don't want to wake up to you screaming because you had a nightmare." I sat between Uncle Tony and Patrick. "Okay. So, what happened?" I told them what happened. "Amethyst, you gotta remember, you can't save everyone. Only I can do that."
"No, you don't understand," I sighed. "If I had freed the girl first, all three of them would be alive."
"You couldn't have predicted what fire would've done," Patrick replied. "At least you managed to save two people, okay?"
"I could've save all three of them if I went for the girl," I nodded. "The only reason why I saved the boy first was because he reminded me of Johnathan. Look, I am going to bed. I talked to you about it." I got up and went to the bathroom in my room. I looked at myself in the mirror. "I look like crap." I showered and got ready for bed. I got in bed and plugged my phone on the charger. "Dear Lord, I have lived another blessed day and come to thank You for Your care. Forgive my faults in work or play and listen to my nightly prayer. Your favor gives me daily break and friends, who all wants supply. I safely now rest my head, preserved and guarded by Your eye. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
