Amethyst's POV
Four months had passed and I was back in Arkansas on a case. "Out of all the places, it had to be here?" I asked.
"You say that like it's a bad thing," Morgan replied.
"I can't go home and risk Patrick seeing me," I nodded. "His school reunion is this weekend and if we don't solve this case, I can't go."
"You're not missing that reunion," JJ smiled. "I had helped you pick the dress and you're going to wear it to that reunion."
"Let's hope we solve this case," I replied. We walked into the police department to set up. My phone rang and I picked up. "Hello?"
"Amethyst, the reunion is this weekend," Patrick responded. "Are you going to be here for it?"
"I'm going to try," I sighed. "I'm working on a case right now."
"I'll let you get back to work," Patrick sighed.
"I'll try to be there," I responded. I hung up. "Okay."
"Why didn't you tell him you were here?" Morgan asked.
"He would automatically assume that I'll be there," I replied.
"You'll be out of here in no time," JJ smiled. By five o'clock Saturday night, I was in a dressing room behind the school stage. "You already look beautiful with your hair and makeup done."
"Considering it took you at least two hours, I better," I sighed. "Now, if you'll help me get my dress and shoes on, that'll be great."
"You look so beautiful," JJ smiled. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." Morgan walked in and closed the door. "Hey."
"You look beautiful, baby girl," Morgan smiled.
"As long as I have that, then I don't care if I sound awful singing this song," I smiled. Morgan handed me a light pink bedazzled mic. "It's time already?""It's already seven fifteen," Morgan nodded. I stood up. "Hey, you're going to kill this song, alright? You wrote it."
"I know," I smiled. "But still, wish me luck because I wrote it for Patrick."
"He'll love it," JJ nodded. We walked to the wing of the stage. "Full house."
"I know," I sighed. The song started. "Here I go."
"Good luck, baby girl," Morgan smiled.
I took a deep breath. "It was colder than December, the night that you walked out the door," I sang. "But I'm not ready to surrender." I walked out on the stage a bit as a spotlight shined on me and the lights went dark. I smiled in the spotlight. "'Cause for your love I'd go to war. And if I could, I would turn the hands of time. Put everything, right here on the line." The lights above the stage turned on as the N'Steppers got onstage. I got with them two days before the reunion to help them be the dancers to my song. "If the world ends now, it's now or never. If time runs out, I'll fight for forever to find you. 'Cause I'm not giving up." A spotlight searched the audience to find Patrick. "And I won't fall down, not now or ever. I won't stand down, I'll take a bullet for you. 'Cause I will fight for love." I saw the spotlight found Patrick. I smiled. "Signed your name across my heart the day you walked into my life. Paint in my world in every color. Without you, now it's black and white." Patrick smiled at me. "But if I could, I would turn the hands of time. And for you, I would sacrifice." One of dancer grabbed my hand and spun me around. "If the world ends now, it's now or never. If time runs out, I'll fight for forever to find you. 'Cause I'm not giving up." Patrick got up from his seat. "And I won't fall down, not now or ever. I won't stand down, I'll take a bullet for you." Patrick walked up the stairs on the side of the stage. "'Cause I will fight for love." Patrick hugged me and I hugged him back. "I will fight for love. No matter what, no matter what went wrong. No matter what, no matter what we lost. You and I can find a way." We pulled back to look at each other. He kept his hands on my waist. "Oh yeah, yeah. Gotta believe, gotta believe that you wanna believe, wanna believe we'll never lose. I won't let you run away. No!" The song tempo slowed down. Patrick pulled me in for another hug. "If the world ends now, it's now or never. If time runs out, I'll fight for forever to find you. 'Cause I'm not giving up." I pulled away. "No!!!" I started dancing. "And I won't fall down, not now or ever. I won't stand down, I'll take a bullet for you. 'Cause I will fight for love. I will fight for love!" I spun myself around and looked at Patrick. "For love. For love. Oh, oh for love..."
The song faded out and Patrick pulled me in for a hug. "I've missed you," Patrick whispered.
"The lovely couple are happy to be back together," Morgan walked out with JJ. Each holding a mic. "How was the song, Patrick?"
"I enjoyed it," Patrick replied.
"I wrote that song about you and for you," I replied. "Three months ago, Patrick came to visit me at my place and left without a single word. I wasn't ready to give up on him." I looked at Patrick. "I risk my life in the path of dangerous criminals hoping I'd get back home safe. Every day, God keeps me safe out on the field."
"And He did," Patrick smiled. "After today, I'm going with you to live in Quantico."
"That's great news," JJ smiled. "She's been shot before."
"You what?" Patrick asked.
"I was shot wearing my bulletproof vest," I smiled. "I'm out there everyday in front of criminals."
"But she does a good job of catching the bad guys," Morgan smiled.
"I am part of an amazing team who has my back," I nodded. "I thank you guys for being there and helping me since I was the rookie on the team."
We started hearing a guitar play. "Are you singing another song?" Patrick asked.
"No," I nodded.
"I just wanna take you anywhere that you like. We can go any day, any night," Jayk's voice came through the speakers. "Baby, I'll take you there, take you there." Jayk walked out on the stage from the left wing. I ran up to him and hugged him. He hugged me back. "Baby, I'll take you there."
"Well, tell me, tell me how you turn your love on," someone else sang. Jayk turned me around and I saw Blake singing as he entered from the right wing. "You can get, get anything that you want." I smiled, walked up to him, and gave him a hug. I pulled back and he put his arm around me. "Baby, just shout it out, shout it out. Baby, just shout it out. Yeah."
"And if you, you want me too, let's make a move, yeah," Drew walked from the the same side Blake did. I gave Drew a hug. "So, tell me girl if every time we..."
"To-ou-ouch," the three of them all started singing. "You get this kind of ru-uh-ush. Let me say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, oh." I smiled as I swayed side to side with Blake. "If you don't wanna take it slow, and you just wanna take me home, let me say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
"Let me kiss you," Drew smiled.
The lights went dark as a spotlight shown in the aisle. "Oh, baby, don't you know you got what I need," said the guy. I was happy to see him again. "Looking so fly from your head to your feet." Devin got on the stage and stood on the left side, across from me. "Come over, yeah." I nodded as I ran up to him and hugged him. He hugged me back. "Come on, come over here, yeah."
"I've miss you, Devin," I whispered.
"I just wanna show you off to all of my friends. Making them drool down their chinny chin-chins," TC sang as he got onstage. "Baby, be mine tonight, mine tonight. Baby, be mine tonight."
"And if you, you want me too, let's make a move, yeah," Drew sang. "So, tell me girl if every time we..."
"To-ou-ouch," they all started singing. "You get this kind of ru-uh-ush. Let me say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, oh." I looked at Devin as he hugged me again. "If you don't wanna take it slow, and you just wanna take me home, let me say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
"Let me kiss you," Drew smiled.
The guitar stopped playing. "I can't believe you're actually here," I smiled as Devin and I hugged again. "This is such a surprise. Oh my gosh."
