chapter 13

*Leo's pov*

I awoke with one thought blasting through my mind

what the shell happend?

my throat felt like a desert formed in it, full of sand. my forehead caked in sweat. my limbs feeling like they were ripped apart and put together again. my vision was blurry but when it focused I could see in was in donnies lab. I felt another pressense in the room and I looked around unroll I spotted her.

her beautiful Brown hair parted in just the right spot, some of it falling in front of her warm Brown eyes. her smile warmed my body and bring the life back into my thoughts.

"hi, um leo, donnie said you would probably be thirsty so... here" she said bringing the glass of water to my lips. it felt so good, like the desert my throat was turned into a rain forest, thriving with vegetation.

"Oh my gosh that feels so much better, thank you....." I began saying but then cut off when I didn't know her name.

"it's Nicola and your welcome" she said in a voice as sweet as sugar.

"I'm leonardo but you can call me leo" I said.

"umm hey leo can I ask you something"? she asked.

"you can ask me anything" I answered and mentally smacked myself.

do I sound like a creep or what?

but thankfully she just looked relieved.

"ok, why"? she asked looking like that explained everything.

when she saw my confused expression she chuckled and described it a bit more.

"I mean, why would you willingly give yourself up to the shredder, knowing what he'd do to you, in front of your brother, just to save me and my sister?!"she asked an unreadable expression plastered on her face.

I was surprised by this question and I considered telling her the truth but then thought against it when my answer would be

o just because I fell in love with you the second I saw you, then had a dream about you telling me to save you.

ya no. so I said,

"because you looked  like you needed help so I went and helped you, and I'd gladly give my life for an innocent in the wrong place in the wrong time any day" I said not totally lying.

her eyes filled with tears of joy and she hugged me.

I was surprised at first but then I returned to hug awkwardly.

then she pecked me on the lips

it felt so great, so right, like a piece of me I've been missing all along just reconnected.

she smiled and walked out of the room, calling my brothers to tell them I was awake.

I was smiling like a maniac all through my reunion with my bros and the only one who noticed was donnie, who gave me the "we'll talk later" look.
