chapter 19

*Leo's pov*

I awoke in a painfully familiar cell, the atmosphere cold, damp, and stale. my legs and arms were bound to the wall loosely, yet tightly. I moaned in pain as I tried to move, my body aching like I just went through one of sensei's late night, 5 hour practices, forgetting to stretch. my vision was blurry, my view of the things around my swaying like they were on a boat. my thoughts were jumbled but I could make out only one thing.

my vision focused and I saw the love of my life bound exactly like me a few feet away, body limp and eyes closed, either sleeping

or unconscious

withstanding the ache, I reached over to feel for a pulse, I found one and I released my breath. she woke up and moaned in pain, feeling the same ache I felt. I wish I could relieve her pain, but I am worthless in this situation.

"Nicola thank God your ok..." I said, voice full of relief.

"ya, are you?" she asked. when I nodded she asked another question.

"where are we and what the shell happened"?

I recalled the best moment in my life being turned into one of the worse. I remember reaching out to her immobile body, my chin being forced up, my eyes meeting evil ones. I was about to answer but then the voice that haunted my nightmares emerged.

"I will answer that question for you, I, at the moment of you being weakest, struck my revenge"! he said evily.

I was terrified but would not look weak, not now.

"which is"? I asked cockily.

"well, since torturing you for answers obviously didn't work, I thought torturing your lady friend here would make you talk." he said, obviously proud of his plan.

no....

"if you touch her shredder, I SWEAR TO GOD-" I started but then shredder took me by the throat and held me against the wall.

"you'll do what"? he asked, challenging me to answer.

Nicola called out my name and instantly he dropped me.

"I almost forgot about you my friend, how's your parents"? he asked.

knowing that he killed them, I struggled against the chains in hatred. Nicola just looked up at him smirking.

"fine, how are yours"? she asked cockily.

obviously hitting a nerve, the shredder pushed a button on a remote and instantly she started to writher in pain.

he was electrifying her.

she struggled against the chains until the shredder pushed another button, and she stopped moving, eyes rolled into the back of her head.

I was calling out her name and I yelled

"just kill me, let her go, you want me not her"

Nicola struggled to talk but I made out an

"no leo, don't".

but the shredder just smirked.

"Oh so many things you don't know, my young friend, but let me just say, I want both of you."

and with that he loosened the bounds on us enough for us to move to each other and walked out, slamming the cell door closed.

I moved closer to the girl I loved, who's breathing was to quick for my liking.

I pulled her into a comforting hug, saying i will find a way to make you escape. suddenly the chains were yanked back all the way into the wall, and my arms were ripped from around her, and I could hear the shredders cold laughter, growing fainter and fainter....
