But I don't want your way I want mine.

Tyler's boots softly crunched against the fresh winter snow. His hands were hidden in his red coat pockets in attempt to keep them warm- and sadly for him, it wasn't working very well.

He stepped up onto his front porch, slowly opening the screen door since the big white door was already opened to his surprise. He stumbled inside, slamming the door shut and rubbing his hands together to cause some friction for warmth. His short, light brown hair was covered by his bright red beanie, making him look warmer than he actually was. He slowly peeled his coat off of his slim body, tossing it lazily onto the wooden coat rack by the door.

Tyler huffed in annoyance as his kitchen was a mess, and his parents apparently didn't seem to care at all. Cups and bowls were scattered across the counters, some broken on the floor; seeming as if they had a fight. His demeanor seemed to change completely as he skipped up the stairs, opening his parent's bedroom door to reveal his mother and father sitting together silently. Tyler found it quite odd, they were always either talking or fighting. Never had they sat in silence, they despised the quiet.

"Mother?"

His mother's head snapped up to Tyler's voice, his father just staying in place.

"Welcome home, sweetie."

Her voice was gentle and cautious. Tyler couldn't put a finger on it, he just didn't understand what had changed about his family; the whole atmosphere had changed. He stood for a moment pondering on whether to speak up or not but decided against it and rushed to his room silently. He shut the door and tossed his backpack onto the grey bed.

Tyler picked up his phone and pressed play on his music playlist, letting the beat echo throughout the room as he changed into different clothes. Once he had changed into something more comfortable, he opened the bedroom door to see his little sister Madison, who was only ten years old, running around the house singing loudly. Tyler quickly rushed to his little sister and scooped her up into his arms, spinning around as her hair flew over her shoulder.

"Ty!"

She squeaked happily, giggling at her older brother. His little brother Jay ran into Tyler's legs as Zack, his oldest younger brother, ran after the little boy.

"Ty, Mom and Dad want to talk to you."

Tyler gulped quietly, setting Madison down and slowly padding his way to their bedroom. The whole house seemed to go quiet as he swung open the bedroom door, his mother seeming as if she was going to burst into tears any second.

"Shut the door, please."

The door shut quietly as Tyler moved to sit next to his father. Both parents were in hysterics, almost into tears. Tyler couldn't help but wonder what horrible thing could've happened to make them like this. Had he done something wrong? Was it one of his siblings?

"We are sending you away to a laboratory."

His heart pounded away in his chest, and he felt faint as his mother said those words. He felt shattered and broken, like his world just crashed down onto him. His life was already bad enough, there was no need to go to a lab and make it worse. He stood up allowing tears to fall, making his mother stifle a sob as he paced the room. He felt anger, heartbroken, and depressed. He felt anything and everything.

"W-Why?"

He stuttered out, pacing back and forth anxiously. He started to bite on his short nails, continuing to pace. He shut his eyes and let out a loud sob, his brown eyes blurred with tears.

"You are far too dangerous to stay with us. This is the best for you, Tyler."

Tyler seemed to snap at that sentence, turning around on his heel and glaring at his father with pure hatred.

"This is your fault! I'm not the devil, I'm not crazy. Shit, I'm your son!"

He shouted angrily, pointlessly aiming his anger at his father. His father seemed to slouch in his chair to hold back his anger, his fingernails digging into the seat he was in.

"Tyler Robert Joseph you will not use that foul language with me young man,"

His mother scolded. She pursed her lips before standing up and moving to hug Tyler, but he just flinched and moved away from her grasp.

"Screw you,"

Loud, angry footsteps echoed throughout the room as Tyler slammed the door, running to his bedroom with tears rushing down the pale skin on his cheeks. Tiredly, he laid down onto his bed until the tears stopped. He suddenly felt numb. He didn't feel anything, it was as if he had no emotions at all. His family was sending him to a laboratory.

Tyler never was a normal kid. He would have his episodes. Crying, screaming, scratching at his arms. Sometimes during his episodes he'd even attempt hurting someone, normally himself, and his parents couldn't understand it. They figured he was insane and needed to be tested, they thought he was a schizophrenic but that wasn't the case at all. Tyler was just different.

But nobody could understand that. He was just a freak.
