I felt my body shuffle a little on the warm surface as I pressed my face a little further into the cushioning fabric.
My eyes snapping open at thought of the small transformation of Kai becoming a fully fledged wolf right in front of my eyes.
My head began to spin and so I took notice of the room I was in; the living room.
The comfy and family like interior; filled with two comfy couches, a small TV set as well as a coffee table, curtained covered Windows and a small Christmas tree in the corner of the room.
You would've never known they had a secret basement torture chamber under the house.
Steps were heard as they echoed against the newly placed wooden planks and I felt myself fall back onto the pillow as my eyes dropped and I tried not to open my eyes and peek at my best friend.
"I know you're awake" Kai's voice sounded and became louder than the Christmas tunes playing lowly in the background.
My eyes opened on instinct only to see Kai kneeling in front of my face with a warm mug being held in between his two large hands as he held it out towards me.
I took the mug from his hands before bowing my head a little and pushing myself to be able to take a sip from the warm Christmas mug filled with a coco brown liquid smelling distinctly like melted chocolate.
I took a sip as I watched Kai take a seat opposite of me on the second couch. He sat nervously as he leaned forward to sit in a hunched position as he focused on playing with his fingers.
We both to distract ourselves from the situation at hand.
"So...you turn into a wolf" I spoke, trying to spark the conversation between us.
"Uh...yeah" he spoke as he scratched the back of neck nervously and looked down at the large black carpet spread out underneath our feet to distract himself from my eyes.
"When did this start happening? Kai I need an explanation" I spoke like a needy child and Kai looked up to finally make eye contact with me.
"Okay-" he fumbled with his fingers before continuing.
"My parents are both werewolves and when I was born they both passed down the gene to me. I always knew I was a wolf because my parents told me when I was very young. I don't usually turn on a full moon because I've managed to learn self control in these past few years but I do turn when the cold months come in. Christmas is the perfect time for Wolves to turn because when the temperature of the air drops our body heat rises and we turn. I wanted to tell you a while ago, but I didn't want to scare you, but there also is something else I have to tell you-"
Kai took a large gulp of air as he looked even more nervous after his explanation.
"Yes?" I asked, trying to push Kai further into his explanation.
"Well....when a wolf is born there is a certain Goddess who takes it into her hands to create a soulmate for the wolf. This soulmate is called a 'Mate' and the 'Mate' is usually found during the teenage years of a wolf's live or perhaps even in the childhood stages. A wolf's 'Mate' is typically the same age and the wolf and 'Mate' are basically promised to each other from birth"
His words all added up sounded like some documentary I would watch on the paid TV channels at home and it truly fascinated me.
"So....?" I pressed on, making Kai bite his bottom lip in nervousness a she forced himself to look my in the eye.
Wow, he's look really attractive when he bites his lip. Well he always looks attractive but woah. Stop it!
My internal argument sent me a little off track as Kai clapped his hands in front of my face and I then began to focus once again at the situation at hand.
"You are my mate" Kai spoke watching me with a nervous expression as he tried to decipher my feelings.
I'm so confused. What is even happening right now? I mean I've always like Kai, there's no doubt there but I never thought we ever belonged together. Does that mean he likes me too? Is that the reason Kai's friends have been acting all weird when I'm near them? Oh gosh I'm so screwed. My whole life is planned out for me. I dot get a choice. Think about it; do you really want a choice? Kai is the man of your dreams. Literally. You wanted this to happen for such a long time, now is your opportunity.
"Okay" I spoke after my long conversation with myself.
"Okay?" Kai questioned as he tried to reposition himself to my look so nervous.
"Yes. Okay" I confirmed as I placed my empty mug onto the coffee table and stood with the thick purple wrapped my shoulders and I took a few steps to sit next to Kai on the opposite couch.
The moment I sat down I laid my head on his shoulder comfortably and he wrapped his arms around me on instinct.
We both took a large sigh of contentment as we snuggles closer together.
"Are you really okay with this?" Kai questioned as I nodded my head in agreement.
"As long as you are. I mean, I have always liked you so..." I trailed off.
"I'm absolutely fine with it" he spoke as he placed a peck onto my forehead; his lips lingering on my skin as he tried to fight himself to move away.
I lifted my head a little to come face to face with Kai; his lips only centermetres away. We both stared at each other's lips before moving in slowly.
His eyes shut as I conjoined our lips together before closing my own eyes together and melting into the kiss and into Kai's grasp.
As we both broke away after about ten seconds we both laid our foreheads against each other's with large and desperate breaths.
"Be mine?" He asked. My chest began to feel the sudden heat of my heart pounding as I nodded, completely breathless as well as unable to speak.
