I knocked softly on JJ's door. Over the last few days he has cooped himself up in his room and just cried. He hasn't eaten, hadn't slept, hadn't interacted with any of us.
"JJ it's time to go." He just grunted before opening the door, revealing him in a black suit, tear stained cheeks drying slowly. "Ready?" I asked, putting a hand on his shoulder as he smoothed down his shirt. "As ready as I ever will be." He walked last me and down the stairs, joining the others in a hushed conversation.
As we got in the cars, JJ didnt take the aux cord like he used to. Instead it was a deathly silence, only the engines humming away.
If only we had stopped Simon. Persuaded him not to go. But it doesn't matter now.
The car ride there was driven in silence and when we got there, we all stepped out. We never had a proper funeral for Vik. Maybe this is why we wanted one for Simon.
We had decided to hold it at a local Orchard. Simon never had been a fan of churches.
"I welcome you all here on this very sad day. We are here to celebrate the life of Simon Minter."
Nobody talked, once again, throughout the ceremony. We all stood, motionless, just watching and remembering him. "You okay man?" Josh asked JJ. He just nodded, writhing away from his grip before excusing himself to the toilets.
We had called Yinka this morning, telling her the bad news. She, herself, had cried at the loss of one of her sons. Well, he wasn't but she felt like he might have well of been.
The casket was lowered into the hole, everyone gathered by the side. None of us where crying though.
None of us had any tears left.
When Ethan had mentioned that the Sidemen where falling apart a month back, I didn't think we would unravel quite so fast.
"Come on, Tobi." I looked to see Calfreezy, holding his hand out. I took it and he pulled me into a hug.
"it'll be alright." He hummed softly.
He didn't sound confident about it.Soon everyone got back in their cars, driving back home, disappearing back to their happy lives, leaving us alone; The last 5 Sidemen.
