Sofia and Sarah looked around the classroom. It was filled with girls, about 12 or 13 years old, wearing a white swimming top and black swimming shorts over a swimming costume. The costumes were half black and half white with a streak of pink from the left hip to the right shoulder. The goggles were pink too. To their surprise, Sofia and Sarah were wearing the uniform too. The things in the classroom were all waterproof.
"What?" said Sofia incredulously.
"Well
"Not before I get to swim!" laughed Sofia, grabbing a pencil and sharpener, and ducking under the water. As she swam to the front of the classroom, she noticed that the pool was only about 2 metres deep. On the teacher's desk was a pile of strange looking blue pills. A note next to them read: "Underwater breathers. Take one every 24 hours. Suitable for underwater holidays."
"Strange," thought Sofia. She sharpened her pencil, then quickly swam back to her seat.
The lesson continued for 5 minutes, then Miss Moore told them to discuss something in pairs. Sofia whispered to Sarah: "As we came here by daydreaming, we should try to daydream our way out."
So for a few minutes they closed their eyes and imagined themselves back in their normal Spanish class, opening their eyes every now and then, hoping to be back in school. It wasn't working.
"So, would you two like to share your answers with the rest of the class?" Asked Miss Moore, pointing at them both. " Oh, and Sarah, put your goggles on. They are part of the uniform."
Sarah hastily put her goggles on and looked at Sofia. "We, um..." Sofia started. Luckily for her, another teacher swam through the door at that moment. She had a swimming costume on which had inspiring quotes and books painted on. She was obviously an English teacher. "Can I have a word in my office, please?" She asked.
As soon as Miss Moore had left the classroom, Sara told Sarah, "this is our chance. Wait here!" Sofia swam quickly to the front of the classroom, grabbed 2 pills and swam back, earning a lot of strange looks from the other girls.
"Miss said we could," she lied. "Special errand."
Sarah, understanding what was going on, grabbed a pill from Sofia and stuffed it in her mouth. Sofia did the same. Swallowing the pills, both girls scrambled onto the wobbly tables. " Are you sure about this?" Asked Sarah.
"Trust me," replied Sofia, and both girls jumped into the water, scared at not knowing what would happen next.
