Sofia's intention was to swim to the front of the classroom, down the corridor and find a way out of the school. But on the way there, Sarah pulled her back, signalling to the bottom of the pool. She pointed to something that looked like a handle and Sofia saw to her amazement that it was a trapdoor. She nodded at Sarah and together they heaved it open.
Suddenly water started gushing from above, into the trapdoor. " oh no!"said Sarah.
"It's coming from the pool!"exclaimed Sofia. "We're draining the classroom of the water!"
Sofia lowered herself into the hole. "I'll just see how deep it is and-"
A great wave came and Sofia lost her grip. She fell through the hole, sucked up by the water, before she had time to scream. Sarah shouted out and then allowed herself to be swept under by the water.
For about 2 minutes, Sarah was carried by the water, thrown about and taken in many different directions. It seemed as if she was in some sort of waterslide. If she wasn't frightened she knew she would have enjoyed it.
Sarah felt her heart stop. She could hear, only a short distance in front of her, something that sounded like a powerful waterfall. She hoped it wasn't one and that Sofia was alright. Then she saw it. A sheer drop. Water slammed furiously against the cliff she would be dropped on once the slide ended, where she would fall down into the river below.
Sarah screamed. Less than 10 seconds till she reached the bottom of the slide.
