"Sofia and Sarah, what do you think you are doing?
Miss Moore's shrill voice sounded exasperated as it rang around the classroom. Sofia jumped. Looking to her right she saw that Sarah looked shocked and confused.
"In my lesson you should ALWAYS pay attention. You two have been sitting half asleep for goodness knows how long. Lucky I asked Sarah a question!"
"Miss, you're normal again!" exclaimed Sofia happily. "I mean-"
"Go and stand outside for 10 minutes. You too Sarah. You clearly need some time to sort yourselves out," Miss Moore interrupted.
Sofia and Sarah, feeling too dazed to be upset or argue back, went out into the corridor. As they were walking out they heard their friend Alicia mention something about candy land. She was sent out too and as soon as she was out of sight, ran to catch up with them.
"Guys, what was that about?" she asked.
"What exactly do you mean?" Sofia said warily.
"In the lesson you both had your eyes closed, your heads bent and you looked really disorientated. Then Miss Moore asked Sarah a question and I kind of shook both of you awake!" Alicia giggled.
"So it was you who was holding onto us," said Sarah. "In the weird island it was Miss Moore."
"What?" asked Alicia.
"Um..." said Sofia.
"We can tell her," said Sarah.
So they both told Alicia the full story.
"But you were here the whole time," said Alicia at the end.
"Maybe some weird magic made it look like we were here," suggested Sarah doubtfully.
"It was just all so real," said Sofia.
"I could come with you next time," said Alicia hopefully.
After a bit of discussion between the 3 girls, Miss Moore let them back into the classroom for the remaining 15 minutes of the lesson. Sofia, Sarah and Alicia couldn't concentrate much though, for they were so excited for the next Spanish lesson...
