We used to have pancakes for breakfast

While the leaves began falling,
and the wind began pulling on the trees.

I always thought it'd last.
But houses lose their warmth I guess,
when people leave.

My momma said, enjoy it while it lasts.
I never understood.

We used to have pancakes for breakfast.

I'd tuck my hair behind my ears.
My brother'd always lose his glasses, and wear miss-matching socks.

Enjoy it while it lasts they said,
I did.
The warmth,
the smell,
the feeling.

But now,
I'm alone,
at last.

Now I'm alone at last.

Most of my poems aren't that personal tbh, but this one, the least deep and poetic one. I don't know, it just does mean a lot to me. I guess I'm a sentimental person as well XD
