"Geez, Race, I woulda thought you were drunk," Ann giggled at her boyfriend Race who was sitting next to her on the Brooklyn Bridge. She loved looking back at the crazy memories they had had.
It was probably at least four am, but they need time together. With the strike going on, they don't have time to talk, much less spend time together. So, with the permission of her brother Spot, Ann brought her beautiful boyfriend to admire the night sky on the bridge.
"Yeah, I'se was pretty stupid that night. I'se was very surprised you ain't break up with me," he replied.
"Even if you have the smirk of mischief plastered on your face, I can't leave ya," she replied. The wind had picked up and she could barely see the outline of her boyfriend through her hair blowing around.
"You good there?" Race smirked as Ann struggled to pull her hair back.
"Satisfied. Thanks for asking Higgins," She laughed. That was one thing she absolutely never got sick of. Race's sarcasm is what kept her on her toes and was quite amusing.
"Den may I ask you another question?" he whispered in Ann's ear. The sound of his low voice and the misty air around them sent a chill down her spine, something she couldn't help but react to.
"What da ya need?" She whispered back, smiling.
Race leaned in and kissed her lips gently. Ann immediately was brought into a universe where only her and Race existed. As her eyes closed, she kissed back as Race cupped her face. Ann could never explain the feeling she got at his hands on her bare skin. It brought her a sense of absolute joy that ran all the way through her body.
They both let go for air.
"Ya know, I'se DID never got the feeling outta my bones, that feeling I get when I kiss ya," Race murmured. Ann didn't say a word, just smiled and nodded.
"Ya gonna respond?" he asked. She laughed breathily and leant back in to feel the lips she had longed for against hers. His hands ended up with a tight grip on her waist, making sure that she would be as close as possible to him.
She then started to run her hands through Race's messy hair. But as Ann went to put her hands through his hair, his hat fell off right into the water below them. They both stopped and looked down at Race's now soaking wet hat.
"Damn," Race said under his breath. Ann couldn't help but feeling a smile appear on her face and she nudged Race. He paused and looked at her, nudging in response. She looked him right in the eye and nudged him harder. He laughed and nudged back.
This little game kept going on until they were both in the water a few feet below them, soaked. But instead of getting out, Race started to kiss Ann again.
She couldn't take it. She wanted Race forever. She couldn't keep doing this "on and off kissing" thing. Race soon started to kiss her neck. Ann yelped as he came up quickly in the water and kissed her with his beautiful lips on hers.
After what seemed like eternity, Race let go. He looked out at the sky and the biggest grin appeared on his face.
"What? What mischief are you plotting now?" she asked, rolling her eyes playfully.
"It's almost dawn," he said. "Mind if we stay here? Ya know, until we get kicked out?"
And she didn't mind one bit.
