Chapter 10
"We are just going somewhere," I said sounding a little stern.
She got out from under her bed sheets and sat on the bed, like what I usually do every morning.
Every morning when I woke up, if I got up right away, I would get light headed and collapse on the floor. That used to happen to me all the time until I realized I needed to sit on my bed for a minute before I got up.
"But where are we going?" She asked.
I started to get annoyed. This wasn't the first time she loaded me up with questions. She dose it all of the time. I know she is only like four, but I just can't stand it when she dose that.
"Just somewhere, for a little while. Just for fun, Abby." I said nice and softly.
She nodded and stood up.
I gave her a long sleeved shirt and a pair of comfy jeans.
"Put these on, okay Abby?" I asked hoping she would just throw them on and come with us without make a scene.
"Ya," she said is her cute little five year old voice.
She quickly took off her pajamas and threw the clothes I gave her on.
She grabbed my hand.
"Follow me. Do not make a sound! Got it?" I asked sternly.
They both nodded and I gulped.
We slowly walked down the squeaky stairs. I noticed that Grandma had closed her bedroom door. Her room was on the main floor instead of the top. I let go of their hands and quietly walked towards her purse.
I turned on a flashlight and looked through her purse. There were tons a recipes and I finally found her wallet. I looked through her wallet and breathed slowly. I found about two hundred dollars. Why would she have two hundred dollars? I took it and stuffed it in my front jeans pocket. I looked for any of her credit cards. She had about five different cards. I didin't have enough time to just look at each one so I quickly decided to take them all. I knew I would be in big trouble when she found out, but I was never coming back, so why worry? Then again she could always cancel the cards out.
I shook my head knowing this was a really bad idea. I definitely did not think this through fully. I was so terrified that I would get caught by my grandmother. Or that someone would ask 'where are your parents?'. I could just lie and tell them they were in the car waiting for us. I think that would work with any dilemma I got into.
"Get your nice walking shoes on and bring a nice, warm jacket." I said trying to think of anything else we needed.
They both started to put on their nice sneakers and rolled a jacket over their back and slipped their arms through the holes.
I walked towards the front door. I slowly put my hand on the handle and turned it and opened the door. It was still very dark out so Im glad I brought a new flashlight with us.
