****Analyia's P.O.V****
"Get your lazy ass up and get to school, you should be lucky we even let you go. You're an ungrateful waste of space!" My sister ,Kara, screamed in my ears. I opened my eyes and stumbled towards the bathroom, as if this didn't happen everyday and I wasn't used to it at all. "I am so sorry Kara," I whispered knowing she could hear me from in my room. "Just hurry the hell up and get ready, I have no idea how I even put up with your dumb ass. Wait til Mom, Dad and Johnny hear about this." She said with a smirk.
" Please don't tell them!" I yelled with a whimper. "Oh we'll see." Kara said with a menacing smile. Tears slid down my cheeks as I rushed to put on a baggy pull-over sweater and some pants. I tied my hair up, grabbed my bag and ran down the steps. I saw Kara starting the car and rushed to get in. The door was suddenly slammed right in my face. "Ah ah ah, you can follow behind the car like the little doggy you are!" She said with a laugh.
Kara hated me,and with good reason. Unfortunately the werewolf gene skipped her and passed on to me, an anomaly I wish never took place. I was completely a mistake and my parents ,and brother, never failed to remind me that. On second thought not one person in the pack failed to remind me that.
So as Kara started the car, I followed behind her wiping the tears from my eyes with each step. I was never happier in my life that we went to Kasper High, because it was only a few blocks from our home. As Kara approached the school with her new car, I struggled to follow behind her without getting mud and dirty water from the tires all over me. Kara parked the car and all of her gorgeous friends laughed at me as I followed. " Alright my ugly little slave you are released. GO AWAY!" She said with a laugh and making a shooing motion with her hands.
I gave her a weak smile and headed off towards my locker. Even the humans laughed as I walked past, it was as if even they knew I was below everyone that had been put on this Earth. With a sigh I opened my locker and grabbed all of my books before heading to the library. My journey was put to a stop unsurprisingly as I was smacked into. "Woah i'm so sorry---Oh wait its only you!" the person said and I found myself looking up into the eyes of Austin Kasper, who happened to not only be the Alpha's Son, but my sister's boyfriend.
"Okay Analyia, you can pick up my books now!" He shouted with an eye roll as he held his hands out. I sighed and handed him his books as the bell rang. I eventually picked up my books but I no longer had time to hide in the library, with all the time that I had wasted. So I headed off to my first class, which with my luck, happened to be with Kara and Austin, because despite popular belief I was smart and a Junior in the Senior class. Not one student in the school believed I was smart enough to skip a grade, and each had their own made-up story about how I got in. Some were more disturbing than others, but I knew that at this point school would be my only deliverance from this hell. Being wrapped up in a book was my sole escape.

The first 6 periods went on as they always did, I found myself being made fun of by everyone including the teachers. If I made a mistake in answering a question I was considered stupid and the students were allowed to throw things at me, of course not one person questioned why that was okay but, with clearer thought I probably deserved it.
As the day came to a close I headed off to the library because, the old librarian Mrs.Horan seemed to be the only person in the world who liked me for reasons completely unknown to me. When I asked her why she always gave me a sweet smile and said " You'll see one day sweet little Lia, but for now just wait." And so I sat down in the library reading Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens and drifted in to the story and away from my poor excuse of an existence. Although it was probably selfish, reading about Oliver's plight made me feel slightly better about my situation.
I was lucky enough to only have those 6 classes because I already had the credits needed to graduate however, I had no friends so school was my escape most of the time and the library was the only place where I felt at peace. But as I looked around the my sanctuary I saw an unfamiliar face sitting on one of the couches. Next to no one went to Kasper High's library, it was almost as if it didn't exist unless a distinct assignment was given, in which case I had full reign of the back nook. No one but me or Mrs. Horan entered the library's back nook, so seeing another person there was not just peculiar but down right strange. As if feeling my eyes on him, the boy turned and stared for a minute before nodding to himself.
The boy walked towards me and examined me up and down. "Are you Analyia Vanderbuilt?" He asked. " Y-yes. Do I know you?" I said with a stutter at the pure shock of anyone besides Mrs. Horan speaking to me and not at me. "Not yet Lia but you will!" He said with a smile and then the boy was gone. Like he literally vanished into thin air.
I just shook my head and ran out of the library, now I was imagining people talking to me, as if I wasn't already completely pathetic. I waited for Kara because, as per usual, it would be my responsibility to hold her things for her as we exited the building. As the final bell rang Kara exited the classroom with Austin's arm around her waist. "Umm you can take my bags and walk home then, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, make dinner, and do Johnny's laundry in that order! Understand?" She questioned examining her freshly-painted fingernails. "Of course Kara." I managed softly and grabbed her things as I headed out. "I will being hanging out with my friends so I will be unable to supervise you. Maybe you could do that one day if you actually had any!" She said with a smile. Her friends laughed and they walked towards the parking lot and I walked the couple of blocks back to my house.
The list of chores that Kara gave me might've been the easiest I'd seen in months. I was completely surprised and genuinely elated, when she listed how little I would have to do for the night. I always felt like the modern Cinderella except, I had no little animal friends and there would be no fairy godmother or Prince Charming, I also had no redeeming qualities like Cindy's beautiful voice.
I cooked my favorite dinner and was humming to myself as I took it out of the oven when the door slammed shut abruptly. My mother and father walked in with smiles that quickly morphed into looks of disgust when they saw me. "What smells so delicious, Kara must've made another fabulous dinner." My mother said. She acted as if she didn't see the pot holders on my hands and seemed to be ignoring the very obvious fact that I had pulled the pan of lasagna out of the oven. "Alana-" My mother began, " My name is Analyia, mother." I stated quietly, cutting off her sentence. "Whatever your name is, I want you to stay in your room after you get home from school and do not exit until we have someone get you." She finished with a scoff and roll of her eyes. "May I ask why?" I said I questioned, cringing at the high probability of punishment for questioning her.
"No but i'll tell you anyways because I'm in a wonderful mood! Tomorrow we are throwing our fabulous children Johnathan and Kara Vanderbuilt a party, and you are not to come anywhere near it!" She shouted at the end.
It was almost like something within me snapped as she said those words. I rushed to my room and slammed the door. Tomorrow was my 17th Birthday and although I knew they didn't care, they had never stooped so low. My head hit the pillow and tears ran down my cheeks. And with one final thought I was out, "Happy Birthday to me."
