My mother...
Struck down before my eyes as she was presumably slain by a deformed monster...
The beast with a scarred face and almost rotten looking features looked to me now as I sobbed, trying my best to get away.
"Come to me, child..." his voice only terrified me more. The red glow from his blade made me want to scream, but I didn't get the chance.
"Let her go!" a man shouted as he came running into my small...desecrated home, wielding a blade of green.
I curled my legs to my chest and covered my ears with my hands and I cried, hearing only the sounds of their blades in a furious battle...until I heard a pained cry from the beast and the collapse of one of the walls of my home.
When it was back to silence I looked up to see my hero's green blade disappear into the hilt. He came to me cautiously, kneeling in front of me, "It's alright...be calm," he waved his hand in front of me, but I didn't understand.
I blinked a few times before I heard my mother gasp for air. I forgot the man and rushed to her side, "Mama...?" I cried, seeing a deep burn down the side of her face, her neck, then down her chest. A black burnt void was in the center of her chest.
"Be-...be safe, my-...only treasure," she was weeping as she gasped.
The man who saved me walked over to us and my mother weakly reached and gripped his sleeve as he knelt down, "My name is Luke...I'm here to help," he said soothingly and took her hand, "Your daughter's father, is he not with you?" he asked.
My mother shook her head, gasping again as she fought to hold on, "No-! You...wouldn't understand...there never was any father. S-Sonja was born of no-...no-..." she could barely speak at all.
"There was no father at all? What do you mean?" Luke questioned, I felt a kind of tingle moving in the air around him...passing into my mother, keeping her alive for a bit longer, soothing her pain.
"No...I was seventeen when I had-...had her...I had never even been with-!" my mother coughed harshly, "P-Please, t-...take care of her...? She is all I have ever-...e-ever cared for in this life..." her voice began to fade.
"I promise..." Luke grimaced and closed his eyes for a moment as a sigh left him.
"Ma...? Mama?!" I panicked when her eyes closed for the last time. I made fists in her skirts, "MAMA, WAKE UP!" I cried at the top of my lungs and I didn't notice a jug fly across the room...but Luke did.
"Sonja," he made me look up at him, "We cannot linger here, little one...I'll look after you," Luke said and tears only kept coming down.
"What about my mama...?" I sniffled and he wiped my tears before picking me up in his arms, carrying me away from this place.
"She will always be with you...I'm do sorry, Sonja," Luke said...
He took me away from my home world to keep me safe. He said the man chasing me, this "Snoke," would be looking for me.
He took me to a world called D'Qar...
I clung to his pant leg as we walked away from his ship, an X-Wing. I had to sit in an extra back seat, but it was amazing to see the stars...I only wished that my mother could've seen them, too.
I walked with him into a base, where a beautiful lady with cascading brown hair...and a round pregnant belly stood to greet us, her husband at her side.
"Luke, who's this little beauty?" she asked with a warm smile, kneeling down and extending a hand to me, but I still clung to Luke.
Luke chuckled a bit nervously, "Hehe...about that..."
I felt a warmth in the back of my mind as he paused...like I was heading words, but they weren't mine. It was an echoing voice...
"Obi..." I muttered and all three- Luke, Leia and the husband- all paused to stare at me for a moment.
"What was that, kiddo?" the husband asked and I looked up to Leia.
"Obi Wan...Kenobi...you knew him...you said you needed his help, to Luke's little droid..." I said nervously, "...because of something bad that Ani was gonna do," my tone turned sad and I knew the words in my mind were from something old and sad.
Luke knelt down and looked me in the eyes, "Sonja, how do you know about that?" he asked with concern.
I wasn't quite sure myself...but it wasn't any of the three before me speaking, "'Cause Obi told me," I said.
"Oh god...Han..." Leia gasped slightly.
"You talk to Obi Wan? Do you see him?" Luke asked, but I shook my head.
"No...I hear Mr Obi-" I pointed to the side of my head, "-in here...can't you hear it, too?" I asked, not afraid, only confused.
They all seemed frozen in that moment. Obi Wan's Force hadn't spoken to anyone in just over thirteen years...
