Katherine was fixing her room. She thought that cleaning up would be nice for the new year.
As she went through different boxes, she found an old letter.
Her heart pounded.
Fear crept in the shadows, still she opened it.

A Letter from Rain:

"Kate,
My heart melts when I see your face."
Wouldn't it be flattering to hear this phrase?
By the fact that it isn't, confusion clouds your mind.
Although you've already felt this a hundred times,
You'll never get used to these words of mine.

Her heart skipped a beat. She was reminded of how much of a flirt (and a jerk) he used to be.
Seconds later, she felt empty.
He was right, she'll never get used to his words and the way they affected her.
