3:16 AM

Katherine was awakened by the sound of her phone.

It's Frank.

"What could be the reason why he's calling at this hour?" Katherine said to herself.

She answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Hi." He replied. He sounds tired, unlike Katherine who was asleep, he sounded like he hasn't slept a wink.

"Is there something bothering you?" She asked.

"I'm watching a movie." Frank said. Katherine was confused, but she just continued as if this was a normal conversation.

"It's a drama and it's bringing tears to my eyes," he said with a laugh.

"Oh wow. There must be a reason why you're so worked up with this movie." Katherine said out of the blue.

There was a pause. She didn't realize that it was it. Something really is bothering him.

"What happened?" Katherine asked, now up on her feet.

She could hear him sniff.

"Gosh, it's 3:30 in the morning." He said.

"It's okay. Let it all out," Katherine replied.

"She broke up with me. She told me she already has someone else," Katherine's chest tightened. She didn't want this day to come. Yes, she may have wanted him, but she doesn't want him to be broken.

Katherine remained quiet, speechless with what had happened.

"It hurts, Kate. These two years, I thought it was really special and that it was worth every effort. Now, I realized it was just me who saw it that way." Frank said, with sadness in his voice.

"I don't know what to say, I'm sorry." Katherine muttered.

There was a pause.

"Hey, it'll be okay. You'll find someone better. Look you stayed loyal for two years, and damn it isn't common now a days... she doesn't deserve you. You deserve someone better. The day will come when you will finally meet the one." Katherine spoke, in hopes of cheering him up.

"You're right, thanks." Frank replied, his voice sounding lighter now.

"When you need someone, you know I'm here," she said.

Frank smiled, but she couldn't see it.

"Thank you so much. I needed it."
