It was already 7 in the evening and the rain was pouring. Katherine was stuck in the lobby waiting patiently for the rain to stop.
Minutes later Frank came and saw her.
"Aren't you leaving yet?" He asked her.
"Well, I have to but I can't. My car is over there and I don't have an umbrella." Katherine said, worried.
Frank paused and took out an umbrella from his bag.
"Let's go." He said with a smile. Katherine hesitated at first, but she still went with him.
Katherine wanted to hold it, but Frank insisted.
"I'll hold it. 'Cause you know, chivalry," he said with a wink, which Katherine sneered at.
"Yeah right, chivalry is dead."
There was a pause.
"Oh god. That was stupid." Katherine thought to herself. It truly was a stupid comment. He was there, showing her a chivalrous deed, yet she managed to say those words.
Could it be her heart pushing him away?
Whatever it was, it made their trip to her car an awkward one.
"Thank you." She said sincerely, as they reached her car.
"You're welcome."
"Do you need a ride home?" Katherine asked. He shook his head, perhaps to escape the unbearable awkwardness.
"I'm good. Take care Kate," he said.
"You too. Bye," Katherine watched him walk away before leaving.
😳
Gosh, Kate.
