CHAPTER 8

Kath hurried to the hospital. Hindi nakasabay si Albie dahel may meeting ito, she took a cab and started calling her tita Gianne and the rest. Kristoff and Cha is also on their way pero manggaling pa kase sila sa QC.

Kath: Karl…

Karl: ate.. (patakbong yumakap siya dito)

Kath: calm down.. what happened?

Karl: hindi ko alam. Basta, mom was descending downstairs.. sabi niya severe yung headache niya, then Julia approached her, nagcollapse si mom. I don’t ate… I’m scared.

Kath: it’s ok, everything will be alright, ok? Papunta na si Tita Gianne and Ninong Kevin. Toff and Cha are also on their way.

They were all seated sa lobby waiting for the doctor… dumating na si Gianne and Kevin. Kasama nila ito na nag aantay, after few minutes, lumabas na yung doctor.

Kath: doc, how’s my mom?

Doc: I’m afraid your mom suffered from Brain Aneurysm.

Karl: doc, ano po yun?

Doc: Brain Aneurysm meaning, may pumutok na ugat sa Brain niya, which caused stroke. I’ve checked her medical history and find out; wala naman from her immediate family has the same problem. So basically this is caused by too much stress. 

Kath: wait doc, I want to know, will my mom be okay soon?

Doc: she has to undergo and operation immediately. 

Nurse: excuse me doc, Dr. Mendoza is on his way.

Doc: thanks. Okay, I think we need to prepare your mom for the operation. Excuse me.

Kath: doc… (lumingon ito) please do everything to save my mom from danger.

Doc: we will try our best. But now, all we have to do is pray, that your mom will surpass the most critical stage of the operation.

Kath: thanks doc.

Umalis na ito, sinundan pa nila ito hanggang sa ipasok ang mommy nila sa OR. Dumating sina Cha at Kristoff at sumunod kina Albie, Kath Julia at Karl na nasa Chapel ng hospital. Sina Kevin, Ivo, Oman at Gianne ang nag aantay sa doctor. After more than 3 hours lumabas na yung doctor, nasa chapel pa din ang mga bata.

Gianne: doc, how is she?

Doc: dun tayo sa clinic ko.

Sumunod sila sa Nuerosurgeon na nagopera kay Chesca, kinakabahan silang pumasok sa clinic ng Dr. Mendoza.

Doc Mendoza: anong relationship niyo sa patient?

Gianne: Im her cousin.

Kevin: we’re her friends.

DM: ok, I don’t know how her children will accept her situation kaya mas gusto ko na kayo na lang ang kausapin. Nabasa ko kase na wala na din ang husband niya few months ago.

Ivo: opo, heart attack yung cause of death.

DM: ok, well I believe nasabi na sa inyo *** nangyari, Mrs. Aquino suffered Brain Anuerysm. It means may ugat or mga ugat na pumutok sa brain area ng patient. Usually, patients who suffered this are those na may hypertension, or yung mga heart problem and all. In her case, it is very rare, wala siyang symptoms, severe headache lang… but unfortunately, yung mga headaches na nararamdaman niya these past few days, dun na nag start lahat.

Gianne: doc, successful po ba yung operation?

DM: we have stages sa ganitong disorder. In her case, Grade 4 na siya or Stage 4.
