Jess hurried towards me. "What was that about?" She asked.

"I don't know, you tell me." I answered tiredly. First day and I had already made an enemy.

"That was some tension in there." Jess' eyes were wide.

"Tell me about it." I sighed. "What was his problem? I barely said four words to him before then. What made him so pissed off?"

"No idea. Lets not talk about it anymore. Got any plans for after school today?" She asked.

"Not really." I admitted even though I just wanted to go home and relax.

"You should come round to mine. We can get to know each other better." She grinned. I looked at her hesitantly. I didn't want to get too emotionally invested in this friendship. It could only end badly for me.

"Sure." I heard myself say. Just as we reached our lockers someone called my name.

"Rori Greensmith to the principal's office." The intercom blared out. I rolled my eyes.

"Guess the principal wants me."

"It's probably just her usual introduction. I'll meet you in the hall for the extra curricular fair." She winked at the end.

"I'm so looking forward to joining new clubs." I tried to look more enthusiastic but when Jess laughed I knew it hadn't worked. I shrugged and made my way to the principal's office. As I approached her office I saw another figure sitting outside waiting to be seen.

"What are you doing here?" Christian spat.

"I don't need to tell you." I replied.

"You don't know do you?" He smirked.

"Look. You insulted me in front of all your friends at lunch and basically told me to stay away from you so do me the favour and don't talk." I sighed wearily. I wasn't in the mood for him. My head was starting to throb from my accident during gym and I felt myself wheezing slightly. I took a deep breath, and expelled the air from my nose, to steady my pulse.

To my surprise he kept quiet and didn't speak to me. I was called in before he was so I passed him without another glance.

"Miss Greensmith. Please sit." Principle Channer smiled.

I took a seat in one of the large leather seat opposite her. I clasped my hands and lay them on my lap as I waited for her to continue.

"I just wanted to formally welcome you to John Weston Academy. I have to say we are delighted that you have chosen to study with us. All our students are required to take a test after their finals in junior year, you were no exception. You did remarkably well in the entrance test. In fact you were the highest scorer out of all our internal and transfer students. I didn't have to think too long or hard to award you with 100% scholarship." She smiled warmly at me. My heart swelled with pride though I bit my lip to prevent a smile from breaking out.

"There is just one problem. We need some forms signed by your parents. Is it okay for you to take them and bring them back tomorrow?" Yeah sure, except my parents were still in Oregon.

"Yeah I'll get them signed by tomorrow." I smiled awkwardly at her.

"Okay then. Collect the forms from Rebecca outside and then you can got to the fair today. Oh and don't forget to get your uniform from the shop after school. Good luck with your stay here." I nodded and stood up. We shook hands before I closed the door quietly behind me. I loosened my posture slightly as I exited the room. As I was collecting my forms I felt Christian breeze past me.

"I hope she gave you a hard time in there. Getting into trouble the first day of school." He smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"Go to hell." I shot back before exiting the office. Like I told Jess I would, I met her outside the hall ready to be ambushed by all sorts of society members encouraging you to join them.
