"Godmother" A small voice came from below me.I turned my head and ignored the call. I needed more sleep.
"Godmotherrrrrr" The voice whined again, kicking my butt.
"What the fuck do you want at this hour Jasmine?" I asked angrily, my eyes still closed.
"Could you go get Starbucks today?"
My eyes shot open. "No. It's your turn today" I snapped, resting my head back on the pillow.
"I know, but I got my period today"
I looked up at her, seeing as she widened her already big eyes at me, making me fall into that demonically cute trap she always set.
"Bitch" I groaned, rolling off the couch to the floor where she was, and then getting up.
"I love you" She cooed as I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth.
"Ew. Love yourself, rabid goat"
She laughed out loud, making my frown morph into a grin, and then a laugh.
It was kind of a ritual for us to have Starbucks coffee every Wednesday and Friday. We usually took turns in getting it. Today being Jasmine's turn, I hoped to wake up to breakfast and warm coffee, but she just had to get a visit today.
As annoyed as I was, I had to help, because I knew how cramps hurt.
Plus, she suffered way worse when I was on mine, so yeah, who was I to complain."Good morning Adrien, why you today?" The extremely nice barista greeted me, a smile instantly lighting up her features.
"Hey Kayla. Jas got her period today, so she couldn't come"
Her face scrunched up in frown. "Oh poor sweetie, tell her I'm sorry about it"
"It's okay. I just keep wondering why God decided to punish us this way"
She laughed, a shrill laughter that should have sounded annoying, but because it was Kayla, always sounded funnier than the joke.
"You're hilarious Adri. So the normal?"
I nodded in reply.
As she walked off to get my coffee and muffins, I scanned the café.
I was one of the first customers here, and all the staff knew Jasmine and I's ritual.
They also knew our orders and never had to ask twice. We were literally part of the Starbucks family."You know, in a little while you won't have to come here all the time anymore" Kayla said, handing me the drinks and two bear claws.
"What do you mean?" I asked back, handing her my money.
"You haven't heard? There's a new Starbucks coming up in your side of town"
The reason Jas and I didn't come as often as we liked was because of the distance from home. An hour was too far to walk every day for coffee, and the buses all had times they came and left. Wednesday's were the only days we could splurge on morning time.
We also never really had our coffee's hot.
"Are you serious? When?" I asked, feeling happy at the good news
"I think it's opening next week"
"Yes! Coffee erryday""Huh?"
"Yes, coffee everyday" I repeated, rolling my eyes"
"Oh. Well say hi to Jas for me. I'll miss you guys when you start going to the other Starbucks. Will you ever visit here?"
"Sure Kay, why wouldn't we? You're like, our family! We're definitely gonna visit"
