I could hear sirens going off and I could feel my head pounding, but that was all. I couldn't open my eyes, even if I wanted to. I could hear someone talking to me, asking me if I could hear them. How desperately I wanted to tell them I could, but my body wanted to sleep. So I did just that, I drifted off once more, silence overtook me.

Some time later, I could hear myself thinking again. If I tried I could move my fingers, my toes, that was good. That meant I was still alive. Next thing on my to do list was opening my eyes. Focusing my brain on that part of my body I opened one eyelid at a time, only to shut them again in response to the blinding lights that seemed to reflect off of the white room. Slowly this time, I opened my eyes and stretched my ligaments.

It seemed I had awoken at the right time, the door to the room I was in opened and shut as a small old lady came up to check my IV.

"Good to see you are finally up, Tristan." The lady smiled at me genuinely, "I am your Nurse, Nurse Herrin."

"Nice to meet you, Nurse Herrin. How long have I been out?" I questioned her.

"For two-three days, that was quite a bad car crash. Front collision." She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth in disbelief.

"Car crash?"

"Oh dearie, you did have some minor head trauma, if you don't remember now I am sure you will eventually." Nurse Herrin said before patting me on the shoulder and heading out to check another room.

Why don't I remember something as important as that... a car crash? I shook my head and looked around the room. I spotted my cellphone on the end table and grabbed it and turned it on.

I had several missed called from Rick, figures. And even more from Grace. I quickly called Grace and waited for her to pick up the phone.

"Where have you been? I will hurt you! Do you know how worried I've been, I have stopped by your house and everything! Then I went to Jason's and he wasn't there, Oh, the neighbor even said he hadn't been there in a while. Then I went to Rick's! Do you know how much trouble you have caused me – "Grace ranted on the phone.

"Grace calm down, it's not like I ignored you on purpose. I'm in the hospital –"

"You're in the HOSPITAL!?" Grace screeched.

"Yes, now calm down. What do you mean Jason wasn't there-?"

"I'll be right down to the Hospital, wait for me!"

"Wait – Grace— "I started before she rudely hung up on me. How annoying. I sighed. I suppose I'll call Rick, while I am waiting for Grace.

"Hello." I could hear Rick's deep voice answer the phone.

"Hey, sorry I didn't answer your calls- "

"Yeah, it's fine or whatever."

"Oh, well, I've been in the hospital, I was in a car crash apparently." I could hear Rick suck in a deep breath.

"That's not good... Do you want me to come down and visit you?"

"Grace is coming down to visit me, so I'll be okay, thanks though." I said smiling. My smiling slowly dissipated when I heard crashing from behind him. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, great. Listen I have to go; I'll talk to you later. Bye- "Rick hung up the phone right after saying bye. What is with people today cutting me off, I was just absent from everyone's lives for two days.

I laid my head back and tried to think of what could have caused the car accident, only, the more I thought of it, the bigger a headache I got.

Frustrated I clenched my head in my hands, "Think Tristan, think."
