The three friends sat in the living room with silence lingering. No one wanted to be the first one to speak. Grace didn't know know what to say she was upset with Hannah for what was happening to her, she was upset that she was sick, but mostly she felt like she was having a panic attack.

Hannah sat there waiting trying not to freak out. It's been almost ten minutes since anyone has said anything. She wanted to give Grace time to process all of this. She did just tell the love of her life that she had cancer. She couldn't blame her for  taking a few minutes to process everything that she just heard.

Mamrie didn't want to be the first one to speak, she was there being a supportive friend and she didn't want to make the situation anymore worse then it already is. So she sat there drinking the last sip of her margarita. She looked around the room. Grace was sitting on the couch with her legs next to her, grabbing them as if they were a safety blanket, staring off to space. Hannah, sat eight feet from Grace staring at her, with her leg bouncing up and down.

Mamrie got up and filled her glass. "Does anyone want anything to drink?"

"Yes," Hannah and Grace both said with an instant response.

"What do you want?" Mamrie asked and together again their response was tequila. Mamrie brought over two glasses filled with patron. As she went back to get her glasses Grace spoke up "Bring the bottle." Mamrie grabbed the bottle and her margarita and set them on the table between Hannah and Grace.

All three of them started drinking trying to calm their nerves. No one wanted to be the first one to say something. Mamrie wanted to sit there and be silent in case they needed her and it was to awkward for her to leave at this point, it's been twenty minutes since Hannah told Grace she had caner.

Hannah sat there staring at Grace trying to read her expressions. She wanted to give Grace some time to process what she was thinking and how she was handling everything.

Grace sat there swirling her drink around her glass thinking how this could be happening to the lover of her life.  She didn't know what to say or do. The longer she waited to say something the harder it was to think of something to say.

Mamrie just wanted to to yell at the both of them for one of them to say something. Instead she sat there in this moment that felt like hours.

Grace finally broke the silence. "So, you have cancer."

"Yeah." Hannah finished her drink and started filling her glass again.

"So what happens now?" Grace handed her glass to Hannah to fill it with tequila. She grabbed her glass took a sip and sat back in her seat. "Do you have an appointment? Do you need surgery, chemo? What do we do?"

"We?" Hannah said shocked as she took the seat next to Grace.

Grace turned towards Hannah, "Of course 'we', were in this together, if you have an appointment or if you have to get a procedure done I am going to be with you. Hannah I meant it yesterday when I said I was in this. I am in this relationship and some stupid brain tumor isn't going to stop me from spending the rest of my life with you."

Hannah set her drink down on the table. She placed her hand to the side of Grace's face and locked her lips against hers. The two kissed for a few seconds until Hannah released the grasp she had on her. Grace pulled Hannah in so the smaller girl was laying on her on the couch. "I love you so much, I was so worried that this was going to freak you out and you were going to leave me."

"Hannah I am in this you idiot." She kissed the top of Hannah's head and wrapped her arms around her.

"Would you be willing to go to my appointment with me tomorrow? I find out we do next tomorrow."

"Of course I will, I wouldn't miss it for the world."

The two hugged each other a little bit longer until they were interrupted by Mamrie. "Not that I am loving being the third wheel in this situation because I am but could..."

"Oh yeah sorry M"

"Yup sorry about that." Hannah got off of Grace and stood up adjusting her shirt.

Mamrie laughed as she made her way to the kitchen "Okay you love birds lets actually eat this food that we made."

"Yes lets, and you can finally tell me everything going on with that ring that's on that finger." Grace grabbed Hannah's hand as they made their way to the kitchen.

The three friends enjoyed their time together laughing, eating, drinking, and not worrying about what tomorrow would bring. They were celebrating this moment, celebrating their friendship and all secretly hoping that nothing was going to change.
